Fun fact: the nurse is the real nurse who delivered her as a baby. Love the detail she always has in her art 💙

She directed herself ❤❤❤

This video tells the story of how she was dropped by her first label. She was in the hospital and came home to a phone call letting her know she’d been dropped by the label. She then had a breakdown and dyed her hair blonde and put herself back out there until she got another deal at interscope, that’s what’s written on her hand “interscope records Hollywood ca 4pm” then it’s her rising from the ashes like a phoenix.

She also self-directed this one since it was so personal.

Herself directed this one

The video portrays the biggest struggles in her life til that point, and overcoming them. She starts at the hospital, being treated for SA and pregnancy interruption, then being dropped of her first record label, and working her way up. Also portrays the help from friends and family. 😎

she basically failed and failed and tried again and again until she succeeded

Gaga herself directed this music video. that just shows how incredibly talented she is!! 🔥

I like that the rain wasn’t planed on . And the production wanted to not film it cuz it might ruin the equipment and said no we’re shooting with the rain I’ll pay for the equipment if it gets broken . Pretty gangsta imo 😂

I think the last part is the best where she gets finally accepted by the Interscope records and she is so grateful 🙏🏻

“It’s sort of like my past is an unfinished painting, and as the artist of that painting I must fill in all the ugly holes and make it beautiful again—it’s not that I’ve been dishonest, it’s just that I loathe reality”

This song, and the whole album really is about this. About creating your own reality, making the artifice real, and committing to this “lie” wholeheartedly until the artifice, the dream you envision and see internal is real and external.

I'm a simple guy. I see Lady Gaga at the Rocking Round Table, I click 🧍‍♂️

the story of the song is about loving your flaws and dedicating yourself to you. the video tells the story of how how she was dropped from her label early in her career and the struggles she was going through at the time. then we see her become the gaga we know today, putting herself out there and literally dragging her keyboard to gigs, dealing with substance abuse, doing whatever she could for another chance. and then the video ends with her getting a contract with interscope and the final image is she’s not a burning satellite broadcasting all over the globe. it’s a masterpiece.

At 14:08, when the ballet dancer girl falls, its a nod to something very unique that happened early on in Gaga's career, that girl was one of Gaga's dancers in the Just Dance era, and in one concert, Gaga accidentally hit her in the face really hard with the microphone, so this is a little nod to that moment. You can look the video up im sure.

She is in a psychiatric hospital for her post-traumatic stress disorder but the nurse gives her recommendations as if she had had an abortion before entering, which she talks about years later in an interview that she had been abused by a man in the industry and from there she developed her trauma and disorder which led her to be in both psychiatric and gynecological hospitals.

The craziest thing is Gaga originally wanted to be an actress. But wasnt finding much success, apparently not great with auditions. So for her to find this level of success from her second choice of a career is absolutely astounding. She still wanted to act so she treated Gaga as a character. With each album and song having fully developed unique concepts. Even with her Jazz album. She dressed and acted the part. She's a performer to the fullest extent. And I consider myself lucky to have been there to experience each era as it was happening.

I have this song tattooed on my arm after it being my favorite song for over a decade. This song actually saved my life. I ain't no Gaga but the themes in this are so relatable. I love your reactions because you don't fake a reaction but also genuinely pay attention and listen while being honest. Paws up! 🖤

Marry the night is a masterpiece. So underrated. So many layers in this video thats so important for her and us (her little monsters). True talent. My queen of music videos (and everything else)
(I love your reactions of mother monster, keep it going please <3 You both look incredible. Shay you slayed with the hair and mug like always). Oh and the way your eyes shine when you react to her and listen to her music is so beautiful <3
