Cutting out the letters at your market is a great idea... especially if you can position yourself so customers can see you doing it. People love to watch things being made. If I were a sewer selling at markets I would try and bring a sewing machine and literally sew while there, though I understand electricity isn't always available.
I also really like the banner out front rather than in the back of your booth. Signage is SO important, in my opinion. Speaking of signs, have you considered posting a sign near your tote bags that says "look inside" (so you don't always have to say that)?

Oh hon don’t lose faith because it’s not just you in your area that’s struggling. In my area we have been in it hard too. I’m in Wisconsin and many of us makers have noticed a huge downturn in sales. I did my county fair last month normally my best seller and I was down by $850 and my booth fees for a triple space is $660. So it hurts but we just have to keep at it. Hugs

I think it would be a good idea to have the letter bar. Can you prepackage Happy Birthday banners and things that are commonly needed? It would be just my luck that I'd spell it wrong if I'm left to my own devices. 😂😂😂

I love your new idea and having some common ones prepackaged.  I also liked seeing your sign outside of your tent rather than inside or you could also put one inside but one on the outside looked awesome.  I am glad you made your booth fee back.  It’s always a bummer if we don’t make our booth fee back.  Good luck with the letter bar, I think you will do great.

I live in Louisville and never go downtown. To many other festivals like this weekend is Gaslight. Bardstown Ky has a huge one and Glendale Ky has a big one. I don’t see any fall and Xmas items. I know many go this time of year looking for those items. Good luck on your next one.

Customizing is always fun! Like you - me, both of my granddaughters, my sister-in-law and daughter-in-law all have an A and L in our names so I would say they are 2 popular letters. My sister-in-law's name is Zelma and Z is always hard to find. I wouldn't go crazy with Z but I would have a few. 😊 Good luck and keep on keeping us posted 🩷
