I posted this video because students and clients were asking for it. I hope it helps those who enjoy painting roses, which I love. I used the oil on canvas technique.

Paints used:
For the dark background: terra verde + dark yellow or ochre + brown #2 (Winton);
To add clarity and light: titanium white + light Naples yellow + pink Naples yellow.
Leaves: light English green + terra verde + dark yellow + sap green (Winton);
Roses: alizarin (Winton #1) + titanium white.
Brushes: Background: firm bristles #22, a brush can be used, mainly because the brushstrokes shouldn't be too soft; I like the effect when they are marked.
Leaves and petal definition, soft bristles, #18.
Small details on roses and sepals: soft bristles #10 and filet.
