He’s begging us, he’s begging us man

‘Michael, do you ever think suicide is the answer?’
‘Sometimes like, when I see you sitting there looking all depressed’.

I know a few people quite like Michael. He’s such a well observed character, the actor who plays him is really inhabiting the persona of a Geordie ex-squaddie. Mainly based on my experience of being born in and living in Newcastle for 25 years until I joined the navy, and then my experiences with other people from Newcastle in the navy and the armed forces at large. He’s one of Alan’s only friends because like Alan, he is completely without any self-awareness, particularly when it comes to the tragedy of his own situation.

I've always found the sausage & beans in a cup scene to be really dark.

The awkwardness of the cup of beans scene is powerful.

That Apache helicopter rant is just about one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.

"Oh! Mr Partridge, ah canna sell you any petrol."

How the fuck he can put on that Geordie accent and NOT laugh during the Apache Heli rant. What an actor, amazing.

A savory 99, Great Banter.

The Apache Helicopter rant is of my favourite moments in all of TV comedy, especially the slow look of horror appearing on Alan's face and the casual, "oh..he's just a mate" ending.  Genius.

If ever I want to cheer myself up I watch a bit of Alan Partridge. Never Fails.

"OH NO! NOT ME TRIUMPH STAG! I'VE JUST 'AD IT RE-SPRAYED!"

randy mcnob gets me every time

Simon Greenall is just a wee bit on the stunningly skilled department.  Superb voice actor..

Kill kill, stab twist kill. Oh those army sayings

Sleep well Michael!

That's me bike, that's desert storm.

Randy mcnob may be the best thing ever said in a tv show

Then I'd fly off to Cornwall and just smash into the sea in a big ball of flames

“There’s one in the bathroom but I’ve nay cause to use it.”
