Not only does the Bruva channel continue to tell a good story with Hunter the Parenting, they have videos of the crew playing Mage: The Ascension. Trippy stuff, even without Fae or ghosts.

After I watched this video, I developed a new headcanon for World of Darkness where Anton Chigurh really does have a laser sword because he’s secretly a Mage Technomancer.

There’s one invincible character in WoD and he’s Caine. He’s spreadsheet has only one line: “You lose”, you can’t win against Cain even if you “cheat” the system. There’s also a reason in the lore, that one time someone got really close to killing him and then a literal thumb of big G crushed the champion. Cain’s reaction was basically “Why won’t you let me die, I already saw enough bad things from humanity, my kin, werewolves and other strange beings. I just one to die or be left alone and not be worshipped by Sabbat (vampires who hate the Camarilla, for masquerade and Anarchs, for being soft on humans and empathetic, and want to basically rule the cattle, aka humans. Also they mass create vampires by hitting people on the head, injecting vampiric blood “vitea” into them while sucking everything else out and burying them in a mass grave and seeing if some of them will dig themselves out in a frenzy state. Due to this they refer to them “shovel heads”)

P.S.: I don’t play WoD, my knowledge is all from watching Hunter: the Parenting. I am a 40k green boyz fan all the way.

Promethean: the Created is about playing Frankenstein's monster, or rather the monsters that are based on it. There are a number of Created that are modeled after different legends, like Osiris or Galatea. Basically, for one reason or another, someone used forbidden occult knowledge to turn your corpse into a resurrected, almost living being. However, you do not have a soul, and your appearance and metaphysical scars causes people to reject you on principle. Your goal in the game is to become human, to synthesize your Azoth core into a human soul through alchemical processes. Also, Frankenstein's Monster is still around in the modern setting and has amnesia.

There are vampire and werewolf hybrids but are extremely rare and suffer from a disease that makes them go absolutely feral.

Actually keeping a sword in a guitar case goes hard as fuck.

If you want a super deep dive on alot of the lore, The Burderkrieg also does long videos about several of the systems and lore in the WoD. Such as his video titled "LEARN these Fairy FACTS or be UNDONE! (Changeling: the Dreaming lore)" but, that video is 3 hours long. Good watches, videos on many Vampire the Masquerade things, Werewolf the Apocolypse, Changeling (the fey stuff), and Hunter. I'm still waiting on a video about Demon the Fallen, where your PC's are demons posessing a recently deceased body to do... campaign stuff. idk. I've never played or ran the system, just read through some of the books because the fluff tells a compelling story as it weaves between the mechanical rules.

I think my favorite game I ever ran was a werewolf, a vampire, and a mage got together to make a party as they were all outcast from their respective societies, and had to deal with civilian hunters, second inquisition, and magical backlash to just, try to live life. it was interesting, but hard to manage because all the rules systems were different editions and were never meant to slot together like that.

Their are half vampires and half-werewolf monsters but they are insane due to the werewolf blood not mixing well with the vampire curse.

1:00:25 The yokai technically exist, though theyre called Hengeyokai. But they´re the Fera (Beastmen that include werewolves and other animals) of the Far East and Southeast Asia instead of  the classical idea of a yokai, those can be easily interpreted as wraith or kuei jin shenanigans

I would personally recommend Primogen or Lazar of Stygia for lore vids for either World or Chronicles of Darkness, and BurgerKrieg for a thorough enough lookover of the basics of these games.

Especially the games in CofD that aren't mirrors of the WoD games (except Changeling because Changeling the Lost is honestly cooler than Dreaming, and that's from someone who really likes Dreaming), like Deviant where you're a mutated biofreak, Promethean where you're a hand-crafted resurrected corpse, Geist where you're basically a dead body kept barely alive by a ghost ally. Promethean is my favorite because Mechanicals, Golems and the like are pretty cool.

Although, I've always liked the idea of playing a Hunter Game where the team is one monster from each game.

"whas a polycule" was not something i expected to hear during this reaction :]

I enjoy hunter the parenting and it feels like  a WoD version of the "all gaurdsman party". honestly I just want to listen to more all guardsman party now. either way ttrpg's  are interesting to me and there are quite a few systems that I think are interesting because of my intersts. Lancer for mecha sci-fi goodness. the 40k ttrpg for more exploration of the mundane of 40k. WoD for navigating a unique setting using your head first. pathfinder for complex combat. dnd for ease of access and a few other homebrew systems for indie flair.

One game no one ever talks about is the Street Fighter game.  Yes, they got the license to make a WOD inspired RPG based on Street Fighter II.  No one talks about it because it's adapting a combat focused concept with a core game mechanic that's very much not combat focused.  Some of the lore they thought up was fun though.

1. There are as many werewolf player hand books put there as vampire and w20 is my favorite.
2. Geiest you are someone who sees ghosts. Wraith you are a ghost.
3. If you want to be a vampire who hunts vampires play an Aasimite

The Soul Reaver? That blade of Kain?

Promethen is for stuff like frankienstines and golems looking for their souls.

I highly recommend Mr. Welch's "World of Darkness Compilation" video. Less as a reaction and more as an informative to listen while you work. The video in question is each of his "Mad Musings" videos of each of the original game lines of WoD. He won't cover lore in depth, but he will give the context behind the release of each of the lines, and point out and be honest about the flaws or problems of each of the old game lines during the White Wolf Era.

There are groups that believe there mage magic is holiy powers and use faith in there magic.

Honestly you NEED to watch hunter the parenting, it's so good.
