Five lion brothers are on a journey to rule the Masai Mara, but standing between them and survival is one of Africa's most dangerous animals: the buffalo. Raised together at Kenya's Black Rocks, the young males grow from inexperienced adolescents into a formidable coalition, learning to hunt, fight and defend a territory of their own. Their path to power is brutal. Rival lions nearly kill their leaders, hunger pushes them into a six-hour battle with a massive hippo, and every encounter with buffalo risks devastating injuries.

When the great wildebeest migration leaves the Mara, buffalo become the lions' lifeline. But these powerful wild cattle fight back. Herds charge attacking lions, rescue injured companions and form defensive walls around vulnerable calves. To survive, the brothers must perfect one of the most dangerous hunts on the African savannah. Brotherhood of Lions: Buffalo Wars follows an extraordinary coalition through years of triumph, rivalry and bloodshed as they fight to become the rulers of their own kingdom.
