ONN: Ithaca holds Festival in honour of Queen Penelope for her having to deal with 108 stinkers-I mean suitors, who also happen to be stinkers for decades. The most anticipated event of the festival is the adaption by many theatre companies of her challenge, with bow included. The reactions by the audience went from "oohs and ahhs" to down right fainting at the sight of being in Queen Penelope's magnificence. Who can blame the audience, we'd take arrow, the sword, the spear, be run over by chariots, and even if meant we'd be damned to Tartarus then so be it.
Camera person: Maybe that's a bit too far-
ONN: Did I stutter? We die for Penelope or we die in disgrace. Same goes for Athena, she did nothing wrong.

Fun fact about Anni’s animatic: she was planing to have an incredibly brief shot of the suitors after Penelope unstrings the bow in front of them, where all the characters visible look disgusted by a strong woman, except one person in the back who looks awestruck (Odysseus of course). The shot was eventually cut for the sake of tone, but I kind of want to see the final draft of that drawing

Anniflamma's Penelope gets the strength to string that bow from pure anger.

I'm surprised you didn't notice that Virus's Odysseus blushes when he sees Penelope, even though Penelope is worn down by the years. You can see in Virus's Odysseus the adoration and devotion to his Odysseus Upon seeing her

Mad I want you to be the first one to watch my The Challenge animatic! T_T <3

30:02 obsessed with this characterization of Athena because it makes it sound like she's trying to convince her dad to let her foster a colony of feral cats she found behind the dumpster

Anytime I see VirusAP's Penelope I turn into Markiplier looking at Lady Dimitrescu. Just- "my god the Power. Look at the POWER."

I personally like that so often the animators went with an 'aim at Penelope' for 'I'd rather die than grow old without the best of you' because while she is the prize at the end of the shot of 12 axes it's also clear visual language that she'd rather take the arrow than marry any of the suitors.

Ximena The Challenge ultimately showed us the perspective of those who waited with all their being for Odysseus.

Anticlea, Penelope, and the most painful Argo, the best boy, a good boy😢😢😢

On the Apollo feast day/Archery contest connection, I can also see a kind of implication of "I'm giving you suitors the best chance possible. If you can't get this done on a day dedicated to Apollo then what can you actually do?"

I’d say VirusAP’s version of Penelope fits your Challenge the best.

Gigi just released her version of the Challenge!!!!!!

11:16 also, a funeral shroud would have been about significant events in his life, which means she’s working on a complicated, non repeating pattern. That absolutely take more time than plain weaving.

Can't wait for this especially since this is when new artists and art styles started appearing for the animatics as well as the OG artists with even more refined skills
Also it's another week or 2 away but I hope you've been recommended Mr gamerons hold them down

You know I kinda wish one of the animators had gone fuck it I don't know which axe design they used so I'll do 12 separate designs and just line them up.  And let's be honest that'd probably be the most impressive trickshot of them all simply because that would mean shooting an arrow through 12 differently sized shaped and designed holes into a target.

What i love aboht the anniflamma  penelope stringing and unstringing the bow:
She uses the leg trick to strkng the bow;
Her unstringing it in front of them gives them the false sense of security that this task is so much easier than it it is;
demasculisation of suitors    :) love it

"Melantho is not a girl's girl" is now my lock screen, thank you.

Did anyone notice the maid spying in the first animatic?

I seriously hope she reacts to Mr Gameron's Hold Them Down and Odysseus. His art style is so interesting animating the entire sequence as 3d puppets

Gwendy In the Challenge scene where Odysseus appears, Penelope rejuvenates, as the wrinkles under her eyes disappear—a way of saying that she remembers herself young and alive beside her beloved.
