I always put shrink tubing and possibly strain relief boot on all connectors

Cool build. Btw, the "center cone" on the speaker is just a dust cap. It keeps dust and dirt from getting in between the voice coil and magnet. The "outer cone" is called the surround, it allows the speaker cone to flex. The dust cap and surround have nothing to do with bass or treble. Also, you can get the same exact joystick and button kit from GRS (Glen's Retro Show) / Thunderstick Studios for $10.00 less.

The board looks like mdf in your video and press board in the pics I see following the link... If it's like what I see you have it may be a fun little project, if it's like the images they show, that stuff will fall apart in 6 months.
