What I like about Mad's Tech is that he does his study on a product and he uses it correctly! I saw other people using the cable length wrong, ( it can damage the device ) or they don't know what they are doing.. I'm using Kweld for quite some time and it always deliver! I feel safe using it on my drone batteries without worrying that the nickel strips will fail during flight. And the support in Germany is amazing as well!

Nice. Thank you very much. P. S. I read some comments that light contact with the probes provides less resistance and better weld. I saw your hands shake on the video not sure how much pressure you were applying down on the contacts but perhaps more than light force which increased resistance thus less current and weaker welds requiring more joules to stick. Vs less force down requiring less joules allowing more current resulting with a better weld. Only testing can tell and I am just looking into this. Thank you for your content and I much appreciate your detailed work throughout. Well done. I enjoyed this.

Just built my first battery yesterday, using kWeld and kCap, with a bench power supply for charging the kCap.
Despite only charging the kCap at 5 Amps 12 V, it didn't take all that long, so I'm quite happy with that setup.
I wanted to start with something small before I try building larger batteries for micromobility, so I just built a 1s5p powerbank. My next larger project might require nickel-copper sandwich, so that'll be interesting to try.

One thing I found out is that a 3D printed electrode holder (which was specifically designed for these kWeld electrodes) I tried to use, was causing bad welds because it made it much harder to apply equal pressure to both electrodes. Once I realized this, and continued with the electrodes held separately in both hands, like you do in this video, I got much better consistent welds. Maybe it's a matter of skill, but my guess is, to work well electrode holders need to have spring-mounted tips like I've seen in some products.

Great video, something else to put in my tool kit.

Great video would love one of these, my god the $$ this would save you from buying li-ion packs.
Awesome choice using the Molicell's heard their amazing.

The type c ones are good mate

Now you also gotta show the Nickel-Copper-Sandwich method with 0.1mm Nickel and 0.1mm Copper to get a high current pack.
This is where the welder really shines and makes the difference compared to these small cheap welders.

It's worth playing around with how much pressure you put on the nickel strip. Not much of an issue for the base of the battery but on the raised positive side its easy to blow holes through the metal by pushing too hard.
