There are almost no videos out there on using modern wireless flash with film cameras, including leaf shutter lenses, and the few that are out there, skip over almost everything, the details, that anyone starting out would need to know. You not only left out nothing a wireless flash beginner would need, but demonstrated somewhat more advanced lighting setups as well. Great video, thank you!

Possibly the best video on shooting film in studio....probably cause it's the only video that goes into full detail, without skipping over anything. Thank you for making this.

The reason the Hasselblad looked dark when you stopped down is that the depth of field preview button was engaged. If you release that on the side of the lens, it won’t get dark at f/8 etc

I’m glad there is someone else out there who forgot how shallow the hasselblad’s DOF can be when it’s stopped down and indoors

Sam, there is another way to 'meter' the light, use a sekonic flash meter, you plug the pc-sync cable into the meter, it reads light, and tells you the aperture you need, shutter speed and asa being constants (sync speed and film speed).
my basic understanding is from YouTube videos, they set aperture on the lens, and mirror this on the flash meter, so you get the power you want, for the dof the f number is giving you.

As someone that is in a studio photography class this semester, this is so inspiring and helpful! I actually used my Minolta Minoltaflex TLR this past week paired it with the pocket wizard. I will hopefully develop the film next week and class and post my results!

SAM, looking at the setup, you have profoto lights, with these you can add a constant light (modelling light)-its built-in to the flashtube; this turns off for the flash exposure. this power level is proportional to the flash power set, so you can do meter readings, or at least focus, etc. with the light at the level you are going to shoot under.
