. . . THIS ICONIC film, to be really appreciated, needs to be seen WIDESCREEN, full sound, in a theatre (I was age 9 !)
- NOTE: & the FIRST time Hollywood featured a deep-space, distant planet adventure in the 2250s, w/ a faster-than-light Cruiser . . .
. . . YOU'RE on the desert planet's surface (& Altair is a REAL star), taking in the turquoise sky & the heady, oxygen+ air . . .

Is the Blu-ray disc only for the extras that aren't on the 4K or does it include the film from the new 4K master? If so, I'm springing for it since I only have the studio released 2 disc DVD 50th Anniversary Edition.

You're forgetting that Arrow ALSO recently released a new Re-mastered Forbidden Planet "Blu-ray" which has the proper 2.55:1 aspect ratio too. However FYI ...the new "Arrow Forbidden Planet Blu-ray" release which is "STILL" in stock ...absolutely looks better than the 4k UHD version. 😀
