I targeted autumn bigfin reef squid during the morning twilight at the rocky shores around Kodomari, Aomori Prefecture.

Noticing less seaweed than usual, I explored the changes in the terrain and caught 6 squid in about 90 minutes.

I've heard some people say that bigfin reef squid aren't biting this season.

On this trip, I didn't stick to my usual spots, but first checked the drop-offs. Then, at a different location, I found a slit between two drop-offs, and by changing my course left, right, and further in, I got multiple bites.

What kind of terrain were the squid lurking in during the morning twilight?
