In fact, Metal Slug X is a game that serves as a remake and expansion of Metal Slug 2.
At the time, following the tremendous success of Metal Slug 2, SNK immediately set to begin development on Metal Slug 3.
However, as they attempted to introduce a new system and churn out massive pixel art, they were woefully short of time and funds. Furthermore, fans were constantly demanding a new sequel.
So, the company made a very clever choice. They overlaid some of the new ideas and technologies intended for Metal Slug 3 onto Metal Slug 2 to create a new game.
This is the beginning of Metal Slug X.

이때부터 게임 나레이션 목소리도 바뀌면서 우리가 아는 그 내레이션 효과음이 등장했죠.
2편의 변형된 시리즈라 좀 지루한 인식이 있었지만 그것은 실제 게임을 접한 후부터 인식이 달라졌습니다.
여튼 이 시리즈 또한 명작이라 생각하고 이 시리즈가 3편의 밑거름이었단 사실에 놀라움을 금치 못하는군요.
