all for one is the type of man that would hate someone so much he would have a kid just to teach them to bully the kids of the guy he hates. 💀

AFO : I don’t steal candy from a kid, I stole a candy quirk from a child. Just to see the despair

I'm glad people are appreciating AFO again. Heard people claim he's boring for too long

He is the perfect anti-All Might. One desires to return the smiles to everyone and he wants them all in despair.

All for one is such a great villain and in my personal opinion is just pure evil and a monster

All for one legit has NO reason to be mean he JUST IS😭😭 he makes it work because his charisma and cunning style. Not to mention his fights voice acting and ost are amazing

All For One, for me, is in the same vein as Palpatine from Star Wars, Sauron from LOTR, Voldemort from Harry Potter, and Kronos from the Percy Jackson & The Olympians books.

He's not meant to be sympathetic or complex. He's meant to be the living embodiment of evil, greed, fear, control, and narcissism in the story of MHA.

But much like all those other villains, what makes All For One work is he's not the villain we're supposed to have the most emotional investment in, which is why we have Tomura Shigaraki. Much like how Star Wars had Darth Vader, LOTR had Saruman and Gollum, Harry Potter had Snape, and Percy Jackson & The Olympians had Luke.

Deku said it better than any of us ever could, underneath all this evil, he's nothing more than a "sad and lonely man".

And that's very true.

Because without his quest to become the greatest Demon Lord of all time, without Yoichi by his side, without his desire to shape the world so that it would forever depend on him.

He would have been nothing but an empty shell, with nothing in this world to live for, and no one by his side but himself.

And that's what makes his character even more interesting, because his whole desire to ruin everyone's future.

To make everyone fear him (hate him), and remember him forever, is his way of leaving his mark on the world (a permanent one, no less).

Not everyone realizes this, but almost every person in the world has the desire to be remembered, to be able to leave a mark on the world they were born into.

This mark left by a man, whether through smaller or larger actions, has the role of telling the world around him that he existed, that he was there, and that he was alive.

And without this mark, whether small or large, it would be as if he had never existed, practically as if he were nothing.

That's why some in this world try so hard to attract the attention of those around them, to achieve things like fame, recognition, or simply the approval of others.

Just so the world around them can notice them, remember them, and say they were there.

Because, without any mark left on the world, someone could be considered as good as nothing and that he never existed.

And the fear of being nothing, no matter how much or how little you want the attention of others and to be remembered, is something we all carry with us.

Hence All For One's desire to be the ultimate evil, and to forever thwart the future of the world into which he was born.

Because that way, no one could ever forget him, ignore him, or fail to hear him.

Leaving a mark that would scar the world forever, just so everyone could know of the Demon Lord's existence.

I love villain's who are haters just to be a hater

All for One is a thesis for what it means to be actually purely evil. Many characters in the show are cruel, some are genuinely psychotic or psychopathic, but only he is genuinely purely evil not just from birth but even BEFORE birth.

AFO is so evil it’s almost comedic

AFO is a Palpatine level of evil and both are able to be pure evil without making it dull or boring

I think AFO is such a great villain even without tragic backstory. I mean, even among "just evil" guys, like Frieza or Sukuna, AFO feels unique and actually way better then them. I think when villain is literally pure evil, then he need something extra to complete his character.

For AFO, furst such detail is his genius level of intelect. Sukuna or Frieza aren't really smart. I mean, the are not dumb, but their intelligence is quite average and they never use it for a hard long plans. While AFO literally plan the entire life of a single kid to make All Might suffer not only physically, but even mentally. He control the entire world in his hands and he can kill you no matter where you hide without even using his Quirks. And again, Sukuna still has some "tragic" background in manga, while Frieza can team up with Goku against someone, but AFO never has both of this things. He is a brilliant manipulator and mastermind, always have a card up his sleeve. When you fight against AFO, you always need to remember that this dude is so dangerous that he can even trick death itself.

For a second important part of AFO as a character is his horror-vibe. I mean, just look at his design. Even as a kid this dude was scary. He never was interested in fighting against someone strong, so you can't manipulate him in this way ( I not include the fact how AFO act in a fight against All Might and Bakugo, because he was affected by Shigaraki emotions because of connection between their souls. So it's not really how AFO used to fight ). All this makes AFO looks quite scary, thanks to Horikoshi's art and desing for all AFO Forms.

Another grear part about about AFO is how unique he is among MHA villains cast. For example, in JJK nearly all villains are "just evil", the same for DB. While in MHA almost AFO feels so unregular among everyone else, because he is pure evil without a reason. He is something opposite to Deku's view about villains and heroes. You can understand every villain, but you will never understand AFO ( he is like Joker at this point ). That is what make him so unique and memorable among all characters in story.

And of course, AFO is simply pretty strong. That is what make him so cool too. When villains are just evil, they always need to be strong enough to fight heroes in 1 vs 100 fight, because that is what makes them dangerous. And AFO literally do this, he wasn't beaten by Bakugo, he lose to all heroes and all their efforts ( and even after that he return and fight against all heroes, inckuding MC, once again ). Plus, AFO Quirk actually make him some type of "god", because his ability to give or take powers, changing fates of single human or the entire humanity as he wish, this ability fits him well.

So, AFO is a grear villain. One if my favorite for sure, Horikoshi made a great job with this character, because AFO is a perfect example of how "just evil" villain should be written.

He does it for the love of the game

AFO is one of my favourite villains of all time.
The moment in yesterday episode when he returns has to be one of the most disturbing and cold moments I've seen, and I can't stress how much I love it.
Him having that trump card like always to re-emerge and take over the body once shigaraki was weakened mentally, him being the one to actually plant the seed shigaraki to become a villain in the first place, befriending his family, corrupting his father and giving him decay.
it's just a brilliant plan and extremely fitting for this character to do it. And when he just shut up the screaming shigaraki after retuning taking control I got the chills that scene was so disturbing.

He feels kinda like Aizen to me no matter how many times you think you've got him he always has a backup plan.

And somebody said here in the comments something I really like:

It's fitting that in a story about succession and the passing of the torch the main villain is someone who refuses to be replaced. It's more than just good vs evil, it's a battle of completely opposite ideologies and a view on life and its value, and I think a villian who's actually just evil cause he knows he's got power and that means he deserves to rule, is a breath of fresh air from all the villians who aren't really evil.

AFO is such a weirdly refreshing villain in a genre where every character has to have some deep emotional reason for their actions. One thing that is realistic is that sometimes people are just bad people. He reminds me of a Bond villain or to keep it comic relevant, Green Goblin or Joker. He's someone who openly and happily plays the bad guy in the story.

You knew All for One was gonna be pure evil until his breath when in the womb just before he was born, he stole most of the nutrients leaving malnourished permanently for the rest of his life as AFO first possession and essentially killed their mother by draining her llife force while still in the damn womb

True that evil is made not born, but AFO is a tue exemption to that

All For One reminds me of G1 Megatron and is just evil for the love of the game

I love that he's such a petty hater that even knowing All Might is provoking him to stall for time by trash talking him, he still falls for it anyway. Pure dedication to hating for the love of the game.

AFO is an absolute narcissist. He believes everybody exist just for him like they're his livestocks.
