I met his groom 12 or 13 years ago , he’d left the racing industry and was working as a lorry driver . Once we got chatting and he told me about his back story with Dancing brave , I looked him up online and fk me it WAS him , next time I seen him I insisted he tell me everything about the horse and Harwoods stable . Very interesting guy and he must have great memories of that Arc day 👍🏴
A think he was the best 3 year old colt ever. The Derby was a fk up. A dont blame G Starkey the horse was a total machine horse racing anything can happen he was finishing like a train to me he was the winner 🏆
Brilliance crops up more than you would think the trick is knowing what to do with it when its generaley kept in the oven for 23 hrs out of 24 the propensity to over work over feed our balls it up some other way is endless, mr harwood and his team really new their game in keeping him happy and most of all sound .
Brave vs Reef on their very best day at 12f, firm turf. The answer will decide the finest racehorse in European history at the distance. Reef will be desperately holding on the the lead, his jockey beating him with the whip like he was never hit before. Brave will asked for his best at the right time. He be flying down the final quarter like he did in Epsom recording record fractions. Can you picture that! Who wins!
😢iwonder wen he died as i was thinking is frankel his sire danc brave would be 27 if he was his sire so he probably isnt his sire, it was just a thought.😊
The crap Greville got after the Derby was shameful... Analasis, which we are lucky enough to be able to do now, with easy access to videos etc, shows cleary it was actually a briliant ride. The horse never came around Tattenham Corner (Again hated tight turns when beaten in the USA later) and the slow pace. led to bunching and scrimmaging Greville was, and will always be, one of he greatest horsemen in the game and knew more about the animal, that is the horse, than anyone.. Michael Stoute maintains there was no better handler of a horse and no better man for understanding a horse and getting into a horses head. He and Carson were reputedly the best judges of a horse, both able to walk one and tell you where it fits in.. Bit random and cant find the horses record but I think I saw Bedtime debut at Windsor at an evening meeting ?
The preliminary claptrap rather spoilt the documentary's focus on a brilliant horse. To conflate the adaptation of the equus genus into its consequent niche species' with evolution is pre-school propaganda at its finest. The equus remains equus and has not changed into a different organism, which is what evolution requires. The Thoroughbred didn't just wander - blind, pitiless, mutational chancewise to quote Dawkins - out of evolutionary tall tails. He was bred; deliberately, carefully, expensively through bloodlines and stock that had specifically selected BY INTELLIGENCE.
