the 2500 hg is amazing

I caught my PB Snook on a Shimano FX4000. 45 Inch. Sure the reel didn't last too much longer but it landed the fish. Still have it above my bed with my uncles Uglystik like a trophy/memento from that fight. 😂

I have a Sienna 1000 on my beater light ugly stick rod for creek and pond hopping. The action and drag feel like absolute butter compared to the stock ugly stick reel it came with. I’m happy for the price.

I have 5 Shimano IXs. Those are 14$ full price.  I'd honestly place them at the upper budget end of the line, maybe better than some of the mid-range reels.  They have the drag knob on the bottom, which is actually nice when you get used to it.

Have a “fleet” haha of Sienna and FX spinning reels the kids have beat on for a few seasons. I’m impressed from the lack of issues we’ve had.  Usually loaded up with 4lb mono, and not the high end stuff.

It’s great for what it’s intended for. I still stand to think the citicas, caius, and like are the sleeper reels of Shimano.

My fx didn’t have the smoothest drag and it kinda worked intermittently. Great for what I needed it for. Ironically I got it after my Lews failed me on the river and it stayed a river reel

I got one when I picked up a Shimano raider 4” junior rod, I didn’t think much of it at the time, however now that it is on my Ugly Stik carbon 5’6” rod and  been river hopping with it I enjoying it, it makes for a nice flick around rod

My FX 4000 is 3 years old and is my goto for light weight harbor and surf fishing. It's just barely big enough to work and the salty sand hasn't compromised anything yet. Maybe the newer made ones are even cheaper...

Nearly 6 years for my 2500hg/6 foot 6 medium combo mostly used for catfishing... and about 2-3 years for the fx 1000 and 5 foot 6 ultra light. Been beating on them 1-2 times a week too. The daiwa d shocks/d wave are also decent

ผมใช้ Shimano fx c3000 ในประเทศไทยนิยมมากราคาถูก

The reel bottom line, is the FX is extremely hard to beat at its price point. I have 3 of them. A 1000, 2500, and 4000. The 4000 had even seen beach and pier duty. The heavy spool is actually a bit of a benefit if you're someone who is hard on gear, or fishes around rocky shores or jetties, as it won't bend easily if you drop it. A drop or two of oil in the bearings, handle knob, and drag washers and some fresh grease annually and these can actually last a long time. Even at full price of $20 dollars or so they are a deal. They have an instant anti reverse, which you cant get in a Daiwa D shock. Comparing them to a lews American hero i got for 15 on clearance these reels are still better. Lews gave me 5 bearings but put them in the handle, I still only have one bearing and one bushing on the drive gear and the shimano is way smoother.

I've got a cheap brand new 4000 size reel with the worst drag imaginable, and in comparison to that thing the fx fc practically has perfect drag 😅

Good gives it a cool old school look. Sleepin on that ozark trail reel though lol

I like the flugger

My FX1000's bail spring started to fail in less than a year ownership/less than one full 7 month, 2x/week season.

Been tuning into some more of your vids lately. I have many shimano spinning reels like the sedona, nasci, vanford, ultegra, stradic and vanquish. One of the budget reels that has taken me by surprise is the daiwa exceler lt (similarly legalis lt 23). If you get your hands on that I'd love to hear your opinion.

Shimano is a great brand but they aren't specifically a high end company, they cover every single price point. Their cheap products are by no means poor quality though but you get what you pay for.

Can you explain in which situations you pick a BFS setup and which situations a spinning setup for lighter lures?

Your not supposed engage spinning reels bails by cranking the reel.

Shit 10 and 12$ I would have got them both there great for cheep reels
