Thanks for your information! I just subscribed. I did want to tell you that North America is composed of 3 countries, Canada/ USA/ & Mexico! So everyone you saw at the market was from North America!

What a lovely Market experience! One of my favorite places to shop. I prefer shopping and cooking at home, but that is a practice I developed living in the US after getting sick there. I figure if I care about the food enough, I don't have to eat out to experience the joy of eating ... Anyways I love that you shared this market, I did walk around while I was there but honestly, I don't think I got far enough down the street for this one. Mostly walked along the two Malacons both Chapala and Ajijic. Probably went on the wrong days as well... In comparison to where I shop in Puebla, I would say this market is even better as the fish has less road time! MUCHAS GRACIAS!!

I went to the Chapala tianguis in May , It’s HUGE and ate at one of the taquerias and had fun with the women working. Best time ever.

I visited that market the last time we were at Lake Chapala. It is fabulous and it's true that we felt very welcomed there. We took the Chapala bus from Ajijic and it was a wonderful day😊.

Not sure if the prices are higher in the markets, but I think many people find their favourite produce store, become friendly with the owners and stick with them. Or just stay at the Ajijic market. Also with salsas etc, the first time at a place I always put a little drop on the edge of whatever I'm eating- and test it before dumping a bunch on the food.
And thanks for taking us along, one more place to visit.
