This is an updated Honda Recon 250 top end rebuild video. This is very similar to the earlier model 1997-2020 models but this video is directly related to the 2021 to 2023 and later models of the Recon 250.

Good to see you post again. You do some really good videos. Sorry to hear about your mom. Post some videos on the new shop, everyone likes a new shop. On the aftermarket top end kits the last few I've used, 350 and 420 Ranchers, the pistons have been very noisy. Like I can't sell this atv the way it sounds. I end up putting Namura pistons in them. The cylinders are fine, but not the pistons. Anyway good to see you back

Hey buddy ..I hope u r doing better...glad to see u r back ..u have saved me sometimes from watching ur channel..I have a question for u ..I have a 2004 honda recon trx250 2x4 tm..and I broke 2 bolts off in the front caseing on the bottom..right down by the frame..is there anyway I can drill the broken bolt out and re tap ..without pulling the whole motor out..

Not sure if you’ll see this but I have a question. I’m currently doing a top end on my 2009 Honda 680. Before tearing it down I didn’t set it to TDC but that shouldn’t matter later down the road setting timing right since it’s on the crank? I set the timing today like on your video from years ago and rotated it by the pull string and the timing mark wouldn’t line up to the top of the cylinder after putting it back to TDC so I pulled it over more and more and the more the timing mark would be off. Is that normal? And also I put the head back on and realized my valves wasn’t moving so I took the head cover off and put my hand on the pushrods and they wasn’t moving up and down. And before realizing that they wasn’t moving I turned it over by hand after adjusting the valves and the exhaust side got REALLY tight. Any ideas what’s causing all of this?
