Xiaolin Showdown was a Kids WB / Cartoon Network classic — Xiaolin Chronicles was its failed sequel. Instead of making a mini Omi clone, they could’ve brought back Jermaine from the first series or put some effort into a new original character. But I guess that would take too much thought and effort.

Xiaolin Chronicles proves that kids will in fact not watch "anything."

Positives - new character utilizes one of eastern classic elements (wood), that's neat - and it also increases the chance for Jack Spicer to permanently change sides, in order to fill in the last remaining elemental void (metal).
Negatives - literally everything else.

It feels like this show had an identity crisis from day one because it wasn’t quite a season 4 and not quite a reboot and couldn’t commit very well to being either one.

I don’t know who thought the CG Showdowns would be a good idea but it’s telling that the best episode of the series is the one that kept the showdown more 2.5D

Props to you Johnny. I couldn’t get past the 3rd episode, it gave my childhood a Mike Tyson uppercut. Plus, the Kimikos dad episode was just Code Lyoko….. come to think of it, all these 3d CG showdowns are mildly reminiscent of Code Lyoko. And who made Code Lyoko…? THE FRENCH! Am I Charlie Day with the conspiracy board here or is anyone else feeling this?

I was so excited when they announced a reboot of my favorite childhood cartoon, and I was absolutely wrecked when I waited for the premiere, only to get what Chronicles is. I wasn't even mad about the voice changes, redesigns, or new names. It was just disappointing and missing a lot of what made the characters fun and interesting.

Dojo passes the Harkness Test... even if his form might be considered feral...

I wholeheartedly believe that they made the canon fart related bc the French or Canadian animation studios make that a hidden requirement, but I can't prove it.

Shadow is made from his rib. It’s a nod to the creation of Eve from Adam’s rib. So by that standard, she is not his daughter but partner

@TheLordTash 3 weeks ago

Yeah, it absolutely feels like it was originally intended as a continuation that ignored season 3, but the studio was afraid it would alienate new watchers, so it had to be awkwardly reworked into a confusing reboot.

As soon as I saw what they did to chase young when this show dropped . I immediately checked out I caught a few episodes but I couldn’t stomach what they did to the characters especially Romando, chase , Wuya and jack. Honorable mention to Katnappé because they made her a mindless goon to jack when she’s never liked him at all and slightly more competent than him in certain episodes . I could go on and on losing the old writers then having the creator watch her show be butchered this bad was a travesty.

I had the worst case of,

Come on, It can't be that bad. It's...fine.....is it? No I know I watched it. Right? I opened up the webpage and watched every episode and everything. I...Oh. It might be bad, bad.

To the title.

I feel this show is like you trying to blend xiaolin showdown ss1 and ss2 but half way through the blender got broken but you still forcing it to mix together into a single season

The only way a revival can work now is that this series starts off as a nightmare in Omni's mind due one or multiple shen gon Wu. All monks are captured, and with the help of Monk Guan and Jermaine frees them. And Raimundo feels guilty for getting them in that situation. and only part of that dream is "canon or real" so that's why team Hylian is watching it via Jack Spicer's tech (Chase Young forced him to make it). Ping Pong no longer exists tho. Jermaine has replaced him. (Or he does exists, but he's Omni long lost brother now and goes by a shorten version of his ACTIONS name, but doesn't remember each other.)

Put me on the writing team, coach!
