Hearing people talk over 3rd eye IS my nightmare.

Gen X: “stop talking!”

Rosetta Stoned to The Pot to Third Eye is a wild progression rofl.

Tools best song on their best album.  This is what happens when 4 great musicians are in the same room . I took acid when this came out and listened to it over and over.  Incredible.

Bill Hicks intro... Legend

man, the opening groove to this song is just so good

HOW do you forget Tool exists I can’t go a day without listening to them 💔💔

13:13 She said the thing!!!

There's a video on youtube explaining the whole song and the deep meaning behind it + all the biblical and other references...

This song GOES DEEP!

There will never be a band like TOOL, ever again.

This is still at its peak for me, more experimental, more raw, more heavy than how they progress. Or it is incredibly ingrained bias in me from smoking joints and listing to this album 100 times as a teenager 😄

6:20 - Lyrics apparently come last on all songs, that's something Maynard's clarified in interviews.

Another great reaction video. Im 44 and started listening to tool shortly after this album came out. Seeing their excitement and hearing their thoughts on the song brings me back to being a teenager and hearing this album for the first time. You can't put a price on that. Thanks for making these vids!

I like that you immediately threw them into the deep end of the pool with Rosetta Stoned. When you saw them struggle a bit, you helped them back to the shallower end, letting them splash around and become a little bit more familiar with the water by putting on The pot. Then, seeing that they weren’t struggling to the point of nearly drowning, you immediately threw them straight into a stormy sea and let them be tossed around by the waves and torrents of Third Eye!

I’m curious to see where they go next!

As much as I love Tool’s epics (e.g. ‘Rosetta…’, ‘Third Eye’), as dude said in the last video, they’re “black diamond” songs. They may be a bit much for new listeners to start their journey w/.

Personally, I would provide them w/ bangers that they can easily digest, while also not being found on every other reaction channel. IMO, these would be ‘Stinkfist’, ‘Parabol+Parabola’, or ‘Eulogy’.

On the other hand, if they’re wanting something heavy, perhaps ‘Jerk-Off’, ‘Ticks & Leeches’, or ‘Bottom’ should next be on the menu.

What say you?

Parabol/Parabola next!!

I always loved tool, but it took me to be older, wiser, and more relaxed to fully understand and appreciate what I was listening to. I don't love super aggressive music as much as I used to. It seems as though they've gotten more complicated in their music compositions.

the drummer Danny Carey is rated one of the best drummers of all time according to every drummer ever asked who is older than 30 yrs old

This song is a story, and it's absolutely perfect at it. If you were there, you already know.  I'm always creeped out when the part comes what resembles that kind of deep breathing what you only hear in your head, all alone, eyes closed, focusing on nothing else, just to breathe, in-out, in-out, and denying everything else. That always gives me the chills.

The opening is Bill Hicks, a friend of the band who passed away at a young age.

I've been a fan since the 90s and this makes me want to bust out the collection and run through the discography again.  Truly one of the greatest ever.
