Hello Red! After buying the Anderson, i bought a Suhr paulownia hss guitar in three tone sunburst with the jumbo stainless steel frets and locking tuners with black caps and a birdseye maple neck from heaven! I know i am late, but i never saw your vids. As a professional i like em both. Have a nice day brother. ✨🙏✨
In general, Anderson has better fretwork compared to recent Suhrs….especially with regards to the fret ends. Suhr frets can also be boxy due to unleavened fetboards and PLEK…
I at least heard with the string tree that if you know, and you’re confident in the geometry that you have, you pretty much know that you don’t need it so you just don’t bother. But I would look into it. I think both of these companies are kind of really interesting with what they make and I would love to have one of each. The sound they produce seems to be very kind of resident and somehow deal within what is already a very chaotic area of guitar tones and sounds. Take care.
Wow from this video I already know I picked the right one and went with the drop top (finally showing up Wednesday)! Nice comparison video man! Great job! You can really hear the difference! My ears prefer the Anderson ! But they're both very nice !
I've got a 2019 Suhr Classic S and a 2001 Drop Top (nickel frets, old fashioned neck pocket) - the Drop Top smokes the Suhr in all honesty. I just wish it had the SS frets.
So what I'm hearing is the Anderson is more opened up and even in the mids. And the Suhr has a more compact out front in mids tone. But, they have different pick ups too for the neck and middle.
Very good looking guitars. And very similar. You obviously know what you like. I have PRS McCarty 594 Singlecut in the same color but flame instead of quilt top.
Both are. Beautiful guitars. Both sound great. You didn’t mention pricing? There are so many Great sounding Strat guitars now available. It’s a hard choice.
