Yes, thank you, this is the clearest tutorial I have found also. I’m a beginner and my pattern is doing this top down, rather than bottom up.
Am I correct in thinking this is bottom up.  And am I a bit dense in thinking this would be very different in top down.

I have just discovered Japanese Short Rows.  Would you treat this the same if knitting in the round and adding short rows at the bottom back of a sweater before moving on to do the rib band.  By that i mean, do all the short rows and finish them off on the final knit/purl rows. Thank You.

I’m knitting babies/ kid’s sweaters for charity using the top down knitting patterns method which is brilliant no sewing in sleeves. How do you know where , and number of stitches to start from. ?
