This volume introduces the qanun into the Riad Noir series — an ancient plucked zither used across Arab classical music.

Here, the qanun speaks with the oud in slow dialogue:
high and low,
gold and shadow,
question and answer.

The music is inspired by the Bayati maqam — a mode often associated with warmth, longing, reflection, and spiritual depth.

The tempo stays slow and calm, around 72–80 BPM, making this the most contemplative session in the Riad Noir series.

The music moves like Fes itself:
without hurry,
without explanation.
