In 1988, we had no idea what we were about to see. We never saw "Chucky" in any of the advertising for the film. Seeing it in the theater, on opening day, the theater went crazy when Chucky finally "came alive." It's an amazing scene.

Child’s play 2 is the best of the franchise, you ladies will love it.

So basically, you’re saying Maggie got hammered and fell out of a nine story window.

Also, Andy should have gotten a Oscar…

But instead he got a Chucky.

Back in the day they used to sell My Buddy dolls, which the design of Chucky is largely based off of.  Freaking nightmare fuel.

27:57 Chris Hanson: "Why don't you have a seat, Chucky"

“I told you she’d be mad at you if you watch the news.”

That should have been a huge red flag right there.  I mean, what kid seriously watches the news by choice?  😂😂😂

Boys in the 80s did have boy dolls I had one called “my buddy”

22:54 "Mrs Barkley! I would not say such things if I were you!"

11:08 Chucky/Charles Lee Ray retained his strength of a full grown adult even though his soul is in a doll. It's not super strength.

Just for comparison, Teddy Ruxpin sold for $70 at the height of its popularity in 1986.  The Good Guys dolls being $100 isn't too far off.  They really sold the idea that this doll was part of a franchise for this movie.  The animated segment, the toy commercial with a mascot actor, and all of the dolls in boxes that lined the toy store; takes me back to the 80s.  Also, dye-cast toys were awesome!

Alex Vincent was the most adorable kid!  He was amazing in this movie.  Outstanding performance, especially for someone so young!  A fun bit of trivia: when auditioning, Alex didn't want to say the word bitch in front of his mother, so he pretended he couldn't remember his lines.  Story goes, he got the part when they found out he totally sold them on the lie.

😎👍 A few years ago, Gilbert Gottfried had this movie's director (Tom Holland) on his podcast. It's a fascinating interview. When you see the doll roll under the couch at 20:38, it isn't being pulled by strings. For those brief few frames of film, they constructed an entire different set that's on a tilt so that the doll would roll under the sofa naturally, and inserted it into the film in post-production. 👻

Alex Vincent was easily the sweetest little boy to ever be on the big screen

Chucky is based on a real doll.  Robert the Doll is displayed in Florida in a glass cube.  He was given to a boy.  The parents say the little boy played with Robert in his room & it sounded like 2 kids actually playing.  Neighbors say that when the family went on vacations they would actually see a boy staring out the window or a silhouette of a boy  walking in the house.  When the boy became a man & married. The wife said Robert had his own room & when her husband went into Roberts room it was like to people were arguing in the room.  People who go visit Robert claim he makes sudden facial expressions or he gives them an evil eye   especially when Robert feels disrespected.

37:41 - 'Magen' is almost a sequel

ECT never went away. The implementation changed, as did the name, but it's still used.

Brad Dourif’s voice work in this movie s iconic

Yes to answer everybodys question . Chucky has the strength of a full grown man.

There was a doll out back then called My Buddy. The doll was modeled after  it.

Love Chucky ! He has personality and keeps you interested as to what he’s going to say or do ! Chucky is a true Classic !
