What a team Aberdeen used to be !Sir Alex Ferguson best time at Aberdeen

Hearts had lost the league the previous week. Fergie found out they hadcemployed a psychologist to get the defeat out of their heads.
Fergie had his players meet the Hearts team with ‘ sorry about last week’  ‘never mind maybe next time’ and similar. Waste of a psychologist’s wage.
Hearts beaten before a ball kicked.
Fergie invented football psychology.

We need those days back again come on you reds 👏

The earliest cup win for the dons I saw whole as a kid. Starks diving header, And Hewitt so great goals, great memories.john Hewitt was my fave player. It was still a good season for hearts, as they had been poor for years, so to be runners up in both was them back on the stage. It was the rebirth of them really. Aberdeen 2 cups that season, and quarter final in the European cup. Undefeated in all the cups. The first non old firm club to win a domestic cup double. Other than that super cup Scottish cup double of 1984. And ECWc and cup double of 1983. The only Scottish club to win a cup double including European trophies, twice in a row.

Hearts lost the league the week before, the famous Albert Kidd game. As they trotted out of the tunnel before the start of this game, the look on the Hearts players faces made me think they were already beat.

7:51 Willie absolutely tearing into Tommy McQueen - what a captain he was. Wish we could have someone like that now.

A time when scottish football was worth watching.
Multiple teams were league title contenders.
That aberdeen team was magnificent and full of experienced campaigners and serial winners.
Dundee utd were a great side too.
Now we watch two teams every year fight it out and its all so terribly dull.

what an outfit aberdeen where

Hearts the gift that started giving around about this time. Perennial failures

Hampden as she used to be, those massive nets, that roar, the old firm not having it all their own way.
If Alex had stayed at Pittodrie, he'd have conquered Europe again and again - adding to the CWC win in '83.
Poor Hearts, the beautiful game can be a cruel game at times.

Lol..I remember watching it on TV..
Me a dons and Liverpool fan and my big brother a Rangers and Liverpool fan...we had to switch back and forth between BBC 1 and ITV because they were showing both Scottish cup final and F.A cup final.between Liverpool and Everton, at the same time 😂 was a great day watching both my teams win on t.v , super Dons!

I was there in my teens, what a time to see true Aberdeen legends. Big thanks to my big mate Graham who took me to the game n made sure I was ok. Great day. Watching my hero Miller was just brilliant 👏

Edinburgh yo-yo club Hearts, well and truly slapped

What a team ABZ 🎉

Lovely stuff

HEARTS...HEARTS ARE FALLING APART...

Dandy Dons Dundee what games brilliant times

In the days when shorts were short AF 😂

To this day, the last time a team other than Celtic and Rangers has go close to the Cup
