It was a total pleasure to check out Drop Duchy, a new upcoming roguelike deckbuilder mashed up with Tetris releasing April 2025!
Check it out here and play the demo for yourself: https://bit.ly/3E0kNjB #ad

as a tetris nerd, i feel it is my duty to point out: a tetris is FOUR lines cleared. one line cleared is just a cleared line!

A Tetris deck-builder!, what next? a Peggle roguelike...

Wow, a tetris Rougelke game. what's next, a rocketship mechanic game?

Sometimes seeing Olexa play works like those mobile apps where the person plays wrong intentionally to make you want to play and do it right.

54:57 so, next time: full heal, right? 😂

You have to admire the authenticity of Olexa showcasing all the bad plays. If anything it at least confirms that all the good plays are real.

You can put an enemy tile into reserve to never place it, like at 40:40, that would of sacrificed getting more lines cleared but you would get more (any in this case) gold which is harder to get. When there are 3 bad tiles not placing one is huge.

Really enjoyed the video, that ending was an Olexa classic! Glad you got sponsored for it

A tetris roguelike, what next, a bullet heaven roguelike?

Fun game.  If you can keep one of the enemy camps in your reserve slot, it will not place on the board at the end.  Keeps one of their armies out of the fight.

Good job for a first run.

So if you never use the storage you can get one more tile, or EVEN BETTER, keep an enemy encampment in the side board till the end and you can delete one of their troops!

Olexa is my favorite roguelike gamer, who does the most insane things that have me yelling at the TV that work better than anything that I could ever think to do and I don't know how he does it!

The Slice and Dice videos alone had my jaw on the floor. I can't beat hard mode and he's over here just... I don't even know what to call said strategy, but he wins every damn time! He's a madman!

Olexa: Playing great tetris
Me: looks away
Olexa: 19:47

holy cow! a tetris roguelike deckbuilder, what’s next? a poker roguelike deckbuilder?

Looks super interesting, definitely looking forward to it!
The classic Olexa effect with some unoptimal plays always helps to sell it as well lol

deck building Tetris? damn they've perfectly targeted my interests now

That was fun, would love to see you play the full release.

33:12 interesting statement 🤔

What matter (I mean I don't know) in the harder difficulties that you not only max your units und min the enemy but you could do that reverse purposely. If i understand it correcly the unit type switch if the destination is stronger and not if lower. At the fight 41:22 if your archer was a bit stronger or axe a bit weaker (3 units diff) you would be go out with some health lost because your not stronger but weaker. You could buff the enemy or weaker your units just that way you are switching unit type or not. That add out of the rock paper scissors gameplay thats fun to build and think about it a whole new complex level above it. Thats for me the "self hurt strategie" for this game at first look. To put you on a "weaker spot" only to rise higher than without it.
