The artist of Hanson-Roberts is Mary Hanson-Roberts, who repainted RWS to be Universal Waite. So if you enjoy the soothing colour of Universal Waite, you will always enjoy Hanson-Roberts.

Thank you for this deep dive into these older decks. I learned a lot. Tarot of the Cat People was my 1st deck back in 1994. I have an old memory of the Sacred Rose deck from a tarot yahoo group where someone said it was brutally honest.  Ever since I have been intimidated by it and it has just sat on the shelf 🤦‍♀️ I am going to dust it off and start using it again  thanks to your insights on the artist. I just bought the Cosmic Tarot last week. Again, thank you for the backstory. And I guess now I'll need to repurchase the Robin Wood. No idea why I rehomed it, but now I need it. This was really great thanks again.

Robin Wood, Morgan-Greer and Aquarian are three of my all-time favourites! I keep going back to those retro decks and always find something new. Will definitely check out your other recommendations, the Sacred Rose really appeals. Thanks.

Andre Norton’s two novels based on the Tarot of the Cat People are very good. As I remember it, they take place in an earlier period of the world Karen Kuykendall describes in her “anthropological report,” which makes the deck even more fun to explore. I love seeing all these older decks getting some attention. The Aquarian was my first deck, back when tarot decks were hard to find. I just bought my third Robin Wood because I’ve managed to wear out two copies in forty years. The “Little Girl Tarot” (Hanson-Roberts) is such fun, and when my intuition needs a little boost, I reach for Morgan-Greer. Now I’m sorry I never bought the Cosmic Tarot. All those faces look vaguely familiar, although Isabella Rossellini is the only one I recognize! Thank you for making this video. It’s wonderful to see these “old” decks  being appreciated and promoted. I was beginning to wonder whether I was simply old-fashioned or stuck in my ways. Apparently I’m vintage. ;-)

I have all the decks in your video except for the Cosmic Tarot.  I first acquired them in the 1980s.  The Morgan-Greer is my favorite RWS clone deck, I like the way it places emphasis on the people instead of the background.  It has one of my favorite Lovers card.

I have most of them. I love them.  Thanks for your videos, look forward to them always.

Thank you for showing those classic decks . Although it maybe not as old , my favorite deck is Tarot of the Old Path,  and I think it falls into the classic category.

Tarot of the Cat People actually also comes with an extended guidebook. I believe initially it may have been sold with it.If people can find one with it grab it!

Cosmic tarot was my first deck ever. It was at home and it’s the one I will never let go. It has suffered a lof of wear and the poor thing is holding for dear life because it was my first ever tries to modify a deck. I still pull my weekly reading with it. Aquarian and morgan have been on my list for years too!!

I love these older decks and have some of the ones you mentioned. I'm so glad you showcased them. Say Hi to Dr. Kotnick for me lol.

All my old favourite decks. I’ve been a reader for forty nine years

Great list! Thank you so much for sharing!! ❤ 🌙

Thank you for sharing. I leant so much about these beautiful old decks. I have Morgan Greer and Robin Wood. Love them both.

❤

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these older decks, Jay. I have 3 of the 7 - Cosmic, Sacred Rose and Morgan Greer. I love the Sacred Rose - very much a deck for meditation and rumination. It's artwork takes me back to the late 60s, with the Court of the Crimson King album cover. In his book on the Cosmic Tarot, Norbert lists a number of movie stars represented in his cards, like Yul Brinner, Charles Bronson, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise and so on. I have the Palladini Tarot, but have held off on the Aquarian up to now as I was quite "Age of Aquarius" overloaded back then! LOL
Anyhow - a great list, and I will be seeking to add a few of the missing deck - especially the Robin Wood Tarot - to my collection soon.

I love your choices ❤

I am sick and tired of AI decks and am happy to see these that you are done by REAL artists.

Of all those I have the Morgan Greer, always wanted the cosmic tarot, Osho Zen was like my 4th deck growing up surprised it didn’t make your 10 decks list. Wonderful video. Joey

Guau! No conocía a muchos de estos mazos! Me encantaron y ya los quiero a todos! De a poco iré sumando cada uno a mí colección personal, y algunos me encantaron para regalar el primer tarot a otra persona. Excelente video ❤
