Welcome back. Nice to see you again.

You're right....Hair System monthly maintenance is a scam. The cleaners destroy the base and hair.  Appliances last half as long as they should,  I use tape,  Get 2 to 3 years out of my systems. As a hair professional I am able to reduce maintenance stress.  I do color baths to combat UV damage.  I color my own hair using a binary color that contains no PPD. I take the unit off at home.  I don't sleep in it. When I hit the lottery I'll get a dainty unit that I replace every week.

Jake the fact that your system gets more realistic each video proves the tough but necessary learning curve we can all do own our on I have tested 15 tapes and bond.  Just now I found walker signature tape and “ for me” and my lifestyle it’s working excellent. But it took a lot of experimenting.

THE hair unit expert on YouTube!

Salons are a disaster in my experience, never again, everything you said happened to me, I went to a salon the first time and a day later it had all lifted, they told me I needed to sort out my sweating issues. It was disgusting the way they treated me. I now order off lord hair they cut to template size and I also get them to do the cut in, their cut stylist is awesome

One of the most needed videos for people interested or currently using hair systems. So true. Hair systems are supposed to be a diy unless you’re on a movie set and you’re getting paid to have someone do your hair. Granted, somethings you might want a professional for but most is totally doable!

Good information.  I have been wearing a hair system for almost 20 years and wish I had this info in the beginning.

Virgin human hair conserves color and silkiness better, last longer, but like any human hair u gotta take care of it and deep condition from time to time. I also recommend getting a sun block spray made for hair.

There are a lot of online shops that will make you a true custom unit if you send them a template and hair sample (or specify curl type and hair color).  Some of them will also cut and style the hair for you.

The system looks fantastic in this video, very good hairline and density.

You are a kind person to help people who have hair issues

I just watched a newer video where you are getting 6 months out of a system so it's cool to see the knowledge evolution and it's even better that you are able to share it with the rest of us.

How did you learn to cut your own hair - especially the back?

So glad to hear. Thanks for speaking out and speaking up!

great video and thank you for the information

Your hair looks SO real!  The color is fairly close...

Thank you.  Makes a lot of sense.

Definitely wish I’d listened to this and done more research. Got my system done on Monday and they’ve cut it shorter than I asked to push me to get a second system for another £500.. £75 for each reclean etc so I’ll definitely be looking into doing this myself in the future!

Really good to know this info.  Thank you

Great content! Informative and insightful. Well done Jake.

I use to wear some kind system they called the "Hollywood" model that was either a lace or monofilament base with a thicker, polyurethane-coated material around the edges (which they hid with under-vented hair), and the base did last a long time, but I had to periodically have fresh hairs added to it.
