You would be shocked just how incompetent police investigators can actually can be. Most cases go unsolved. My best friend was taken out by her husband. She was actually shot in the chest as she was walking out of her bedroom door. Her husband was and still loves to carry his gun around his home. He is a trigger happy coke head. But they still chalked it up to suicide because he's a rich narcissist that works for Daddy. Now my case..  
I was brutally attacked. I had to jump a 6 foot fense to save my own life.  Had to go find a neighbor to call 9111. Those people are still free. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Call your local victims service center and ask them how many people ever see justice. Anyways, good story. I did get a vicarious thrill out of her getting some kind of Justice. Just remember, famous people might get justice more often but even that isn't fool proof.

Why is her A hole husband blaming her for forgeting things when she has a brain injury?

People don't tend to look into painful past history. The character may not have remembered contiously but knew once. It would seem like she wanted to see, feel, know, or remember anything related to it. People bury over digging deeper into areas that cause more & more pain.

Terrible dark and depressing  choice of a movie . Respectfully..Why pick a movie that's a 1 time watch? It's so hard of a watch I had to skip a few scenes  when I saw it years ago
