Kim Jon Sean!  🎼Rocket man

It would make an excellent boat anchor 😅

The alarm is Triumph's Datatool. With the ignition on  press and hold both buttons for 10 secs to put in to ferry mode, then turn off ignition which will turn off the alarm untill the ignition is turned back on.

👏This is amazing!....that alarm! 😄 ...to start with i thought it was going to be a cautionary tale of "don't do e-bay drunk" or whatever might have led you to think this particular bike was a good idea as a project; however, hearing your plan, i'm invested! Look forward to watching more and ultimately hoping to see it restored and sold to someone who'll love it. She certainly still sounds good... 👌

Had a R3R about 10 years ago, magnificent piece of kit.  Have the Rocket TFC, completely different level of awesomeness.  Good on you for rescuing this iconic masterpiece!  Good luck!

Well if the sound of the engine is anything to go buy, this is going to be a fun project. Good luck

Bought my 2015 for $1,500 a couple weeks ago. Equally neglected but its all better now

I had an 08 Rocket 3, probably not the best bike I've ever owned but certainly the most epic and I loved it to bits. I was living in a flat at the time so had to keep it outside and keeping the rust off was certainly a challenge even with ACF50 and a decent cover. Would love to own another one day though.

Hi 8 months ago you said the FTR was powerful just wait till you open up the R3 don't forget the clean underwear. Great bike lots of fun

OMG!!!

A rather expensive boat anchor .....

I wish you all the very best with this and look forward to watching progress 😁👍

Two weekends tidying will see it usable.

It's always hard to believe that a bike like that was once someone's pride and joy. Good luck with the restoration.

Sean, just watched SAMMIT (Sam Lucas) at a Bosozoku bike meet. So many beautiful Japanese Bosozoku style bikes

Someone left that nice machine outside in the rain.

Really looking forward to seeing how you get on with this project. The engine sounded sweet when you got it running, and the oil leak is probably just the rubber seal dried out or perished. If there's any rust or pitting on the fork stanchions where the seal passes over it, you will need to strip the forks and get them rechromed. Fingers crossed it all goes well for you.

oil leak on the top  is not an issue they all perish on this bike due to engine heat wont effect running of the bike and an easy cheap fix

You get that lovely "dog drying after a swim" shimmy from a big Guzzi too, when you blip it.
Another pickle with a longitudinal crank.
I confess, I do not and cannot love the Rocket 3, but it should be an interesting resuscitation project.
It galls me the way cosmetic parts are given the merest smear of chrome these days.
This bike has clearly been neglected, but Triumph hardly dignify themselves with this level of build quality.
Anyway... Enjoy it. 😊

Wow Sean… nothing if not brave!  I think you’ve done well - no chronic rust!  Suzie is such a supportive partner too - probably not much profit but an achievable result - go get ‘em!
