I love Elder Holland . I love every one of his talks. A true apostle of God.

Happiness is seeing someone else having something you would have liked and trusting you will be able to thank God for unanswered desires of the heart because he knows us eternally which is an infinitely better than we understand ourselves

Such a powerful talk. Someone somewhere struggling with jealousy needed to hear this talk. In fact it is a talk that EVERYONE needs to hear.

The more we understand the nature of God, how He sees us and what He wants for us, the less we will envy others.

It’s the enmity - the rivalry - the want to be better than others or have more than them or be more than them - rather than be more than we are to please God - that is the issue.

So much is to do with the intent of the heart and our desires.

I love this talk and always think of the quote about the rerun of the TV show “Vain Imaginations”

I think to some degree each of us have been the prodigal or the other sibling and in both cases need the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
