You know, I'd feel worse about your view being ruined if you didnt ruin those gorgeous wood furniture pieces with cheap white wash....

Thank you for sharing who you are, for being honest & real and for sharing your part of the world. You are a beautiful soul Jeni 🩷
Blessing to you, Justin and Apple

With so much heavy destruction happening around the world my heart was already aching, but watching the devastation of the ecosystem right in our own backyard brought that grief incredibly close to home. Thank you wonderful community for your kindness!

Thankyou so much sharing••••• this make me soo sad too! 😢

First, I have to compliment you on your darling outfit and the new lighter vibe in your dining room. Turned out beautifully.  There is not a week going by where my husband does not bring up his regret, to not purchase the land next to our house. It wasn't even that much money then, but we thought we couldn't afford it. Shortly after, the trees were cut, and instead of a little cottage,  a huge house went up. I totally understand your pain about the trees and feel of your home changing as a result. When I was a young girl, I was obsessed with a song of a famous singer then, Alexandra. She sang of her friend, the tree was dead and cut in the early hours of the day, and how she misses hugging it. She had an amazing, sad voice. She died in a car accident very young at the beginning of her career. I am proud of saving 3 huge trees behind our house 20 years ago, when the neighbors were going to cut them down, worried about them falling over in a windstorm.  I talked to them, and then I sent my husband and later another neighbor to talk to them. In the end, the trees are still happy and we are good friends with these neighbors. It started with me bringing over my famous hazelnut cake, and she returned the plate with some cookies. Way too long of a message. Sorry about going on and on. You still have the most beautiful place and home. ❤

Jeni, I'm so very much like you about trees and ecosystems. It hurts my heart to see clear cutting or even selective logging, knowing that more than just the trees are affected. Even mushrooms and woodland flowers don't grow there anymore. Sorry about the forest in your backyard. On a brighter note, I can't believe how the color of the armoire has changed the room. You chose well!

❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is so devastating.  My heart aches for the loss of such a forest, all the way here from California.  Our wild areas are so vulnerable, and I am so sorry for this loss

So sorry to hear that Jeni, I would be heartbroken as well 😔 nature can be so soothing to our souls. Lovely video, thank you 🩷

The imagery in this vlog was your most beautiful yet.   Thank you for allowing us to immerse in nature and beauty.

Well, I believe I’m like you on many levels. It is devastating to see it destruction of a tree or land. Everything changes the whole field changes the animals lose their home, and it’s just incredibly depressing. I live in Northern Michigan and there’s been areas that have been totally demolished on a beautiful rolling hill and every single tree ripped out and then the leftover is just left on the ground no cleanup whatsoever or respect for the land and it really is so heartbreaking and it’s been an issue for me. I just get so upset over it. So it’s very understandable and I would be heartbroken as well and I would cry. I don’t know if you ever follow her or not or seen any of her videos but years ago Jonna Jinton film, a devastating loss for her and her photography and it broke my heart. So she would go to this forced area in Sweden and hang out and do her photos there and spend time and take your dog and they would just enjoy the space. And then one day she showed up without any clue and they had destroyed it. I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried. It left such an impact on me that I think I became even more sensitive to that loss of tree and environment.. Anyway, I’m sending you a big hug and I do understand that and it is heartbreaking for some people. They can just move on and they don’t connect with sometimes this massive change of the environment but for me it takes a heart and stomped on it. Take care of yourself and I’m really sorry that it happened.

I'm so sorry about the loss on your doorstep, you may find that the trees on your land suffer a little because of this, they are so intrinsically connected to one another, might be worth looking into x

Oh my heart.  I too love all of nature, things created from nature and I also touch the trees and feel their energy.  Surrounded by these things, I feel safest.  Thank you for sharing. I am sad for you.

This is the reality of living in the French countryside. We had the same experience, the wood is managed for sale. The owners cannot afford it to just support the ecosystem. In ten years it will have grown back. Not many people are in a position to let it stay in its natural state.

I completely empathise with you over your loss of those life giving trees. I too am a tree hugger/lover unashamedly…… I was devastated recently over the felling of an ancient tree near me that I used to call the Wishing Tree, my grandchildren used to place their hands on it and make a wish….. one day I found it completely felled….. I managed to retrieve a piece of it and my son is having it made into a little bowl. I felt as if I had lost a dear friend…… 💚

I'm with you Jenny, I Love trees and feel sad when they have to be removed. We recently lost a lot of trees in Southland where we live due to storms. Some of those trees stood for a hundred years or more. I feel for you as it changes the landscape and the energy of your environment. I have cried for the tres and animals during the summer fires in the Northern Hemisphere. Sending warm hugs.

I saw your vlog for the first time today.  Your newly painted cabinet is beautiful and looks great in this room.  I fully understand your shock and sadness.  Years ago, living in an old area of Dallas, TX,  I came home from work to find the new owner of the house next door had put up a new six foot wood fence between our properties cutting down all the trees on the property line.  Since the trees were on the property line, they were half mine and the owner should have contacted me before cutting them down.  Well, it was too late now.  My solution was to plant some new trees, shrubs, and climbing vines to replace what was lost and improve the view from my windows.  The view actually turned out better because I chose what was planted on my side of the fence!  There can be blessings from unwanted changes.

Enjoyed your little video and I would cry too, I feel natures sorrow at the suffering imposed by human hands. 🌸

Another beautiful video Jeni. I love the hutch in that color. Your home is so beautiful. I feel your pain about the trees being cut... Be well. Happy to see Apple so happy!

How horrible and sad - the loss of the forest! I hope they don't buile something ugly or noisy there.
