A viewer asked about control surface trims which I should have mentioned in the video.  While safe mode/auto leveling attitude trim is programmed into the receiver (assuming you use safe) the normal aileron, elevator, and rudder trims are on the radio.  If switching between planes and one requires different trims to fly straight and level those trims will obviously carry over between planes.  If you plan to use the DXS to switch between planes, it is important you take the time to mechanically trim each plane so that it requires little to no trim at the radio to dial it in or you'll be re-trimming each time you switch planes.  Either that or make yourself a cheat sheet to know how many "clicks" each plane requires for a particular control surface.  Then you could zero the trim, then move it to the necessary value for each plane.

Another viewer asked if reverse thrust was possible.  Yes, you can.  The DXS is a 7 channel radio and with model profiles you change what switches control which channels somewhat.  As long as you can configure your reverse thrust to operate on an available channel you can do it.  If using an Avian ESC you'd have to configure the ESC with a compatible radio or with an Avian ESC programmer.  I have other videos on how to configure Avian ESC's for reverse thrust.

Shane, Thank you for this video and the excellent explanation of the Spektrum DXs. Today I was given this transmitter along with an E-Flight T-28 Trojan along with an Apprentice S Cessna and an Elite T-Rex helicopter.  I've never used a transmitter much less flown an airplane or helicopter and am trying to learn everything I can from YouTube before I even attempt a flight. Could you possibly do a video using the DXs with take-offs and landings for beginners as well explained in this video. Thank you & Subscribed.

Thank you for the video. I have a question. I just bought the T-28 Trojan will it bind to my aero scout dxs transmitter without doing all these steps???

It came with a thin white USB to charger cable and the battery, and the light is white and when I hook the battery to it turns solid red😮

As soon as I binded the Apprentice 700 STOL with the same DXs that came with the Carbon Cub, I couldn't bind the Carbn Cub again.

My dad's aeroscout does not have intermediate mode. No matter how I bind it with the dxs. Any ideas?

Did you, by chance, test how many planes your DXs could be bound to? Was it just the two in your video or could you add, say, 4-5-6?

Since your other videos ( i.e. propeller testing-AeroScout) are indepth i just assumed you tried many bindings.

Is there a way to reset the trim to default?  I messed it up and it doesn't seem like power off and back on either transmitter or receivers resets the trim. I also cannot find any type of online manual for this. Would you happen to have a link to one?
Again, if you know some way to reset the trim to default without messing up the bindings... that would be great!

Hi,what do channels 5, 6, and 7 correspond to? Because my throttle cut (switch H) seems to be reversed (when I put it in position 1, it's at full throttle). Or perhaps I need to adjust the throttle trim? Can you help me. i'm beginner.Thanks
