I was raised Catholic. I rebelled and quit going at 12. At 20, I came back, but to a 5 point Calvinist church... Within a year I had left church again and became deep in research into the occult, masonry, Gnosticism, etc. I ended up becoming a vicious alcoholic, and was arrested twice in one week in the summer of 2024. I almost died of withdrawal seizures inside of a jail cell, where I cried out to God that I will serve Him my whole life if He can save me from dying in a cell.
God worked through Scott Hahn, Brant Pitre, John Bergsrma, and Sam shamoun, and led me back to his true church. I can't make it through Mass without crying deep, ugly tears of pure reverence for our Lord's mercy❤
Thank you Dr. Hahn. What a beautiful reflection on the 2,000 year old teaching of Jesus Christ and the Eucharist that he left his disciples in the Catholic Church.
Very very eye opening . I am listening as I work my way back to communion. Been on and off the path but I am committed to work my way back. The proudest supporting me on this path shared
Dear Dr. Hahn, I am so glad that you have made "turning down pride and finding mercy" the story of your life. You have given so much to so many! Thank you, and God bless you!!
I know it is difficult, but thank you for your continued humility and for your remaining a faithful servant of the Bride of Christ.
I find Jesus in the person of the Holy Spirit, who came to live in me the day I was born again. He is with me all the time. He never leaves me. He said He’d be with me till the end. I feel His love and power when He walks with me through good times and bad. I hear His voice in the Holy Scriptures and in music. Sometimes I just hear His sweet voice in my heart. When I eat the bread I remember with love and gratitude how He gave Himself over to physical/mental torture to heal me, and when I drink the wine, I am reminded that I am His betrothed, cleansed by His blood, watching and waiting for the day when He will come for me and take me home. Hallelujah!
So a Catholic workmate of mine asked me to watch this, and honestly interesting! But honestly, if the basic parallels of Jesus and Moses aren't even being taught in Theological colleges in America, then I can see how going to a church with some level of depth like the Roman Catholic church can be enticing. I'm no minister, just a lowly Presbyterian church member, and most of what was taught in that sermon, I was taught since I was a teenager.
