What amazing scenery and photography!!

Oombi has certainly changed from what I saw in 2001 when I helped rebuild the airstrip. I came over on the barge and slept in my swag and operated the excavator digging the drains out and then moved up to the shale pit and stockpiled until about 10pm. They were some long days after starting at 4am.
Whilst I was there the elders told me I could drive through to Oombi and go along the Carson River track to Kalumburu but by the time we finished bituminizing the last two kilometres of road to Ivanhoe Crossing it was mid December and the wet season was well on the way and with Kununurra already having had 20 inches of rain I decided not to do it and have not been back since. Now I can not afford it as I am only on an age pension.

You guys captured the Oombi scenery perfectly and the killer terrain. Cannot underestimate how tough the terrain out there. Definitely need a guided tour and convoy to tackle this track. Thank you for another awesome episode. I love it so much, I've watch x3 already 😊.

We run a Bush Company 270 degree awning and also use it heaps. Absolutely love it. A quality self supporting awning is money well spent. Another brilliant vid. Thanks for sharing
