My mom had her hair dyed when I was a kid and for whatever reason they didn’t do a great job and it would always be a shade of orange. When she’d get up in the morning with her hair all standing up I used to sing the heat miser song to her. She was not amused.
This song and Frosty the Snowman mean the world to me They got me through the hardest December of my life Without them my December would have been nothing Because my grandmother died she lived with me she was like a mother to me More than my actual mother And when this happened My dad gave me a spinning snowflake Frosty the Snowman And for my birthday I got the snow miser snow man They are making my life easier and happier
The movie was apparently first shown when I was a teenager, though I don't think I saw it then. This scene is one of the best of everything that ever came from Rankin/Bass! Notice that not only does Heat's round head and hair suggest the sun, but Snow's head and face resemble a classic crescent man-in-the-moon face with icicles added.
