From what I understand so far:  For over 2,500 years China worshipped the same Heavenly God as in the Holy Bible. They called the Most High God of Heaven ShangDi. The Emperor and wise men knew at the eclipse 27AD that the Holy One (messiah) had died for all sins of the world. This was all recorded.
Approx. 5BC gods (Tao, Buddha, Confucius) of stone & wood were introduced to Chinese ppl. Our Creator the God of Heaven loves us so it hurts Him when we rebel & make idols that have no ears to hear us.
Check this... If you can cut down a tree & carve an idol then take the rest & burn it as firewood to keep you warm, how do you expect that piece of wood to do things for you, no matter how many times you bow down to it?
So God sent some ppl from the west to China, to remind them the God of Heaven is still there waiting for them to come back to Him. It's amazing how wonderful our Heavenly Father is to each of us. He is patient, merciful, full of love we don't understand.

Seems like this talk went over the heads of some people lol...Steven was simply showing how ancient Chinese believed in God and that Christianity is not a Western idea, nor is it simply focused on the West but the entire world beginning from the East.

It is interesting to hear him mention about a "temple of God" in Beijing similar to the "unknown God" in Athens. There were similar things in my village in East Nigeria, where my great grandfathers named God " Chineke" in Igbo language, translated as "God of Creation" by the missionaries that came to Africa in the early 1900s.

The prayers of the massive body of Christ in China are holding the world together.

This is the most fascinating thing Ive ever learned about the Chinese and Chinese culture. I always felt this kinship toward the Chinese people, for the most part they seem extremely kind and polite.
