"We've all got a past but thankfully we've all got a future as well" oooooooooooooo. I like that.

Great meeting you, mate — really enjoyed showing you around Belfast, the best city in the world! Thanks again.  See you soon. Mark / Stumpy ❤

Went to N. Ireland for my brother’s wedding from Australia, they couldn’t understand my broad Aussie accent and I couldn’t understand them, but by the power of Guinness we started speaking the same language!!!!! It was a miracle! Hallelager!

"who the fcks Rowana?" 😂😂😂 Legend

My cousin married a northern Irish girl. I was the best man. English, from the Old Kent Road in London. Those people from Belfast were the salt of the earth. Proud, charming, kind and beautiful. We went to a marriage party at a local golf club. The pipes, and Bhorans came out and that was it for me. Astounded and in my element I listened and sang as the guinness and scotch flowed. Unforgetable XXXXXXXX :-)

Belfast reminds me of how South London once was, proper pubs, characters and fish and chip restaurants.

I’m an Engishman, worked around the whole Island for a year solid. Shown nothing but love in every part.

That was a great comment by the gentleman that you interviewed just after the first pub "We've all had a past, but thankfully, we all have a future as well". Brilliant comment! ❤

One of my best friends growing up in Canada was born and raised in Belfast, he came over when he was 13. Such a great guy, friendly, fun and awesome to hang with. His whole family were top notch people. They didn't care what religion you were, they treated you like gold. He reminds a lot of Stumpy, he loved his pints, rock music, Liverpool FC and Toronto sports mostly the Maple Leafs. He would take vacations back home every other summer and have the best times. Unfortunately we lost him to cancer two years ago at age 55, he was one in a million. Always wanted me to come home with him for a visit to Belfast and I just could never make it work, one of my biggest regrets. Great video guys, Belfast looks like a place I would love.

Stumpy is what you wish everyone was like up north. Respects both sides beliefs and embraces the people. There’s good people on both sides but you still have to be careful, particularly in pubs where drink is involved. I wouldn’t recommend bringing up the troubles. Allow the locals to speak about if they choose to and just listen, don’t give an opinion.

stumpy is starting to look like a pint of Guinness

Fantastic. Go to the so called rough bars in the Shankill and Falls and meet nothing but sound people. Five minutes in the city center and it's maniac soup.

As an Englishman who travels to NI and the South regularly for work, I've faced far more hostility in the South (mostly in Dublin) than I ever have in the North, even in Republican areas

We've all got a past but luckily we've all got a future too ...wise words indeed

Potatoes with a side of potatoes! Only in Ireland!

"We don’t actually sell meat pasties."  She’s not putting up with any backchat from the customers.

Underneath 'The Hawthorn Bar' sign - you'll see 'An Teach Beag' , which means, the small house, or the wee house.  Teach = House. Beag = Small

I think Stumpy is bang on.  The walls remain for tourists, and I get that, but it will always be a sad reminder to all Irish people of the loss of loved ones.  Stumpy for Ireland's Ambassador!!!

I went to a pub in Carigkerry once, the most memorable visit to a pub I ever had. I was the first Englishman ever there. All spoke gaelic, and the men singing irish songs I couldn't understand. My wife and friend's wife doubled the number of women - to 4 women, about 30 men. I ordered guinesses on my round from the barman and the whole pub went quiet, my Irish friend having got the first round, and ordering in Gaelic. Unforgettable and like from a film how the whole pub of men stopped talking until the barman settled them down, again in Gaelic.
