Yevgeny Petrovich was born on July 19, 1923, in the village of Tolbazy, Bashkir ASSR. Immediately after the war began, on June 23, he received a summons to the military registration and enlistment office. He was sent to study at the Tula Weapons and Technical School. After graduating in December 1941 and receiving the rank of military technician 2nd rank (lieutenant), he was assigned to the newly formed 884th Rifle Regiment of the 196th Rifle Division as the head of the ammunition workshop. In the summer of 1942, the division was redeployed to Stalingrad. He was wounded during the battle for the city on the Volga. In August 1943, he was sent to study at the Dzerzhinsky Military Artillery Academy. He participated in the Victory Parade in Moscow on June 24, 1945. He received military awards, including the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, and the Order of the Red Star.
Andrei Konchalovsky's new large-scale project, "First-Person History," explores past events and human destinies. The "First-Person History" project documents and digitizes the memories of direct participants in historical events. The project's heroes are veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Over 200 interviews were filmed with veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War from more than 60 cities across the country, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tula, Tver, Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Tambov, Tomsk, Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and others, as well as with World War II veterans from France and the United States.
"First-Person History" will provide everyone interested in the history of our country and for whom historical truth is important the opportunity to receive information from direct participants.
The "First-Person History" project is being implemented in partnership with the Russian Union of Veterans with information support from the Russian Military Historical Society.
