I love Boss Bottled Absolu, and am still surprised it's from Boss, as they always used to lean into more generic designer territory. Smokey, resinous, incense, patchoul, chocolate, leather. Long lasting but airy enough to appeal to most people. I think it'll be a timeless masterpiece as long as they don't mess with the formula!
A two spray monster for me. You wear this because you like it, not because you think someone else will. Probable one of the most polarizing bottles I own.
This is one of my favorite scents. I’m Puerto Rican and I think your wife nailed the sweetness descriptor. When we make coquito we used condensed milk, some of us also brew a tea as the flavor foundation and its cloves and star anise with cinnamon . Give or take a few things depending on recipe . But this smells like that minus the coco lopez. And with that deeper earthy note that I think is patchouli
Hated it first time I tried it and scrubbed it off. To be fair, it was a hot Summer’s day. Tried it again (on a much cooler day) and it was ‘OK’. Tried it once more on a cold day and it was transformed. Bought a bottle and it’s a Winter staple for me last 2 Winters. Excellent value.
I feel better now that you've co-signed on this fragrance. I bought this for super cheap and was worried. Love your channel and the way you break things down. Always love hearing your wife's input too.
Hands down, you’re the most honest fragrance reviewer. I got Boss bottles Absolu month ago, I really love it, it’s my signature perfume in the cold temperatures of Northern Europe. I completely agree with your comment, it’s a Niche experience very high quality ingredients used in it, projection is high for almost 2 hours , longevity hands down 8 use it for my daily office work.
9 sprays!? In my experience I ended using only one, one extra if using since reaaaally early and was planning on going out again... Totally agree with the open and the sweet dry down comment...
It’s grown on me now and I love it. I have both Absolu and Elixir in my collection and they’re so close, I swear, if I sprayed each arm and didn't keep track, I’d 💯forget which is which. You definitely don’t want to overspray this. I play as a musician, and I end up wherever I'm going for 4-5 hours, so I sometimes go for the heavy sprays. But you don’t want to with this. One night, I think I oversprayed, maybe 5 sprays or so, and when I walked in, there was a group of ladies sitting having their drinks and they were giggling to each other, and then sort or dispersed quickly to the outside. Oops.. It could all be in my head, but I could smell myself consistently, and you know when that’s the case, it’s a strong scent.
Brother always love your videos. Boss bottled Absolu is my number 1 most complemented fragrance. I have Carlisle and Red Tobacco. I’m a Carlisle guy and I totally agree with your take they aren’t redundant at all. BBA is right there w Carlisle in my ranking both in my top 5. Women love !!! BBA !!!!! I think you will love Boss Bottled Elixir as well. It is a little redundant to BBA maybe give that one a try as well.
Absolutely I’ve tried to describe that light sweetness in such a dark way, I think you got as close as I could imagine with chocolate covered raisins… not necessarily like opening raisinettes but that kind of sweetness
