Godzilla won't die simply because of the contract clause from Toho. However, Kong has been steadily dipicted in these movies as declining, losing teeth, damaging his arm, becoming battle scarred and grizzled... it's clear to me at least that they are preparing him to die, simply for his inability to regenerate like Godzilla.
I like the idea a lot and I definitely want to see more solo Godzilla movies but I feel your throwing in Destroyah a little to early. Godzilla has a lot of villains he can go up against one of those being SpaceGodzilla or a better adaptation of MechaGodzilla. I would say we should do a film with Kong doing his stuff in hollow earth (defending humanity and all that jazz) but at the end of the movie he finds SpazeGodzilla who was trapped in a meteorite that crashed into hollow earth millions of years ago. SpaceGodzilla absolutely wreaks Kong's sh1t and escapes to start ravaging earth and right at the end credits we see Godzilla wake up from a long nap in the ocean setting up his solo film against SpazeGodzilla.
Neither should be killed off. They've been given they're respected quadrants so that they could be allies. Fans want to see their stories expanding not wrapping up. We're still looking for the introduction of King Ceaser. Not to mention any new monsters like Scar King. I'm not going to get started on the original mythos. These two characters need to continue living and fighting for a reason...š
Godzilla Jr didn't die in Godzilla vs Destoroyah. After Godzilla died Godzilla Jr absorbed all of the nuclear energy. The Godzilla at the end of the movie is actually a full grown Godzilla Jr. That's why the Godzilla in Godzilla Millennium/Godzilla 2000 is green.
Hear me out. The new bad guy kills both of them in a really embarassing, demasculating way with a golf club to shit on the characters, then they introduce black female gojira and king kong who are both in wheelchairs and a lesbian couple. Franchise saved.
THIS Villain Can Save the Godzilla/Kong Franchise....By Killing One Of Them!!!
