On October 4, 1940, eight Zero fighters (12th Experimental Carrier Fighter) took off from Hankou Air Base to destroy the air forces of the Republic of China Army, which had retreated from Chongqing to Chengdu.
Four of the Zero fighters, riding high on their momentum, made a hard landing at Taipingji Air Base in Chengdu, attempting to destroy the enemy aircraft.
Will they be able to return safely?
