I can't imagine how the survivors will ever trust an authority figure or an emergency responder ever again. How horrifying their final moments must have been. This was hard to watch, such a messed up preventable tragedy.

even i was thinking that there might be a conspiracy why this happened but its just plain incompetence and corruption its so scary

Highly recommend Rotten Mango's Burning Sun scandal

this case and the Itaewon tragedy have haunted me since i first watched Rotten Mango's videos about them 😢 i feel so bad for the families of all the kids that were lost

An interesting fact is that BTS's "Spring Day" came out in February 2017 and has yet to leave the Korean music charts, even after all these years. I just hope (and I know BTS does as well) that it was/is able to give even a little comfort to the family and friends of victims, survivors, and Korea as a whole after such a tragedy.
While the song itself wasn't specifically written for the tragedy, the lyrics are really powerful and can be linked to it. The music video shows hint after hint of the tragedy from abandoned luggage, piles of clothes, and a straiway that people are running up while someone is left at the bottom (survivors trying to live life while their lost friends can't). BTS didn't outright mention the connection because of how the government was during the time, but they wanted to show respect and comfort to those who needed it.
If you haven't already, I recommend watching the music video (with captions) and watching explanation videos on it

Rotten Mango/Stephanie Soo is my #1 favorite Youtuber. For every heavy story she does (with compassion and objectivity), she does three reviewing books or dramas or movies she likes. This video was really touching. Subbed :')

Please react to the Itaewon Halloween Tragedy too

I just cant watch. The way these children had so much respect. They respected ehat their elders said and died because of it. Rip tonall the kids. I just cant my heart hurts when i hear this case

29:35 right it’s so terrifying knowing people like this live among us I can’t imagine doing anything like this

This is just so sad, there is no words to describe the pain and suffering that these students and families went through.

dont worry about stopping and talking, we very much appreciate your commentary!

This is so heartbreaking on so many levels…I cannot imagine the pain of those who had to get through such a horrible tragedy. Losing someone like that, knowing they could’ve been saved and always having to live with that thought…My heart breaks for the victims and their loved ones…
I found out about this tragedy through BTS and their song Spring Day (2:19:23), one of the most popular and loved songs by the Korean public that’s still on the Korean charts 7 years after its release. It’s the longest charting Korean song in the country’s history.
BTS secretly donated 1/3 of their income to the families of the victims in 2017 (they were only four years in the industry back when they released the song, still relatively small compared to the fame that they have now: that was basically almost their entire income for the year) and even went to meet the families in person and console them as confirmed by the families themselves. They did all of this from the shadows since they couldn’t openly state the things they’ve done since the government was blacklisting and censoring everyone speaking out.
One wish the survivors and everyone affected have is for people to never forget. And BTS truly made that wish real. Every year, when Spring Day rises once again in the charts, people get reminded of this tragedy. Many people now know about this due to BTS, which is why the Korean public loves and respects them for what they’ve done. BTS is known to talk about injustice and societal problems in their songs so this is not a first for them. The risk that they always take in doing the right thing is thus very admirable.

Thank you so much for the reaction!
I highly recommend the burning sun scandal as well as the itaewon tragedy.

React to rotten mango Korea most hated man JUST released from prison

OH MAN HEYYY never thought I’d see you reacting to my favorite true crime youtuber! what a happy surprise.

Fishermen are the unsung heroes, most cases they help people

I Hope you could react to the Itaewon tragedy and the Korean military Air Force female’s 81 days of hell
Love your reactions keep going pls♾️
Btw “Yeoboseyo” means “hello” as in talking on the phone in Korean 😄

thanks for reacting!! it was so heartbreaking. also thanks for the insight about the military i didnt even think of that and was wondering why no one interfered.
one detail she forgot to mention or didnt think was that important in the overall story was the government went as far to blacklist over 10,000 artists/creatives in korea for showing support or speaking out about the situation so anyone who did that she mentioned towards the end risked such fate too. im a huge bts fan and came to know about this situation through them but was even more shocked and disgusted when rotten mangos video came out because i didnt know the half of it. bts made references to a few different movies and books which described rebellion against government further proving their song was about the tragedy they included Snowpiercer in the lyrics and visuals. at the time the director and main actor of the movie were some of the people blacklisted by the president. had she not been impeached bts probably wouldve ended up on the list and movies like parasite wouldve never been created nor won Oscars cause thats the same director who was blacklisted.
i wish to say that the government learned something from this situation to prevent such things but sadly they continue to happen and truly just makes me lose trust in all authority as well cause ive seen many cases all over the world including the west and it seems none of these systems are there to help just to control. when it comes down to it the only people we can rely on is our average person more than authorities.

The captain obviously didnt want to compete with children. He obviously thought if they rescued women and children first he would not get rescued in time. So he told them to stay were they were.

I enjoy watching YouTubers react to Rotten Mango. I learn something new from their perspective. It's great to hear your thoughts based on your military and travel background.  I always look forward to hear your take on these real life events.
