Loved VFD calculators...the vintage feel.

I scored a boxed Astro Wars at a thrift store some years ago. Worked straight away and my nephew who is less than half its age had a great time playing it.

If you'd had all of those electronic games in the '80s, you would've been the most popular kid in the whole school! 🕹😀

I have most of these game in working order. For Fights of the Titan in particular, you really need the manual in order to finish the game.

Superb, thanks as always. Liked and hyped.

Nice lot! Can't wait to see you tackle these, Roger.

The last one, Invaders From Space, I received as a Christmas present at some point in the '70s. It is a very basic minimalist version of Space Invaders but it kept me playing until I became quite good at it. I still have mine, and the last time I gave it power it still worked!

Looking forward to your Fights of the Titan repair video. Epoch made some fun electronic games in past like the barcode battler.

I.  .tested.   21.  Broken.  Games.   How. Many.  Still.  Work

Wow, what a retro haul! I love these old games, excited to see  some future repair videos. The colour of that Safari reminded me of a bathroom suite from the early 80s 😂

Very nice haul.  I'd love to see repairs on them all, although Bambino Basketball won't be top of my list

WOW!!! What a collection. You have some very interesting ones. I cannot wait to see some of these go under the Retro Tech Repair process.

Played a lot of Race 'n' Chase as a youngun' back in the mists of time, I presume that's why I have always hankered after a Vectrex. Maybe one day.

I would love to see you tackle the zig zag monster first never seen that one before so would love to see that up and running.

haha.. i like all these bizarre housings and colors the games came in..
noice..

I am a collector in sorts of these classic VFDs but some are very expensive and I am always on the lookout for broken ones. That Fights OF The Titan I have been after for a long time - they are either way to expensive or snapped up before my very eyes :( Great content for a full repair series so I wish you luck with this and I look forward to watching more :D

I once had a version of that white space invader game, by 'Grandstand'. I loved it. Would like to see your version working to see if it the same one. 👍

Your Earth Invaders game might be ok.  The controls might be working fine.  I have Coleco Alien Attack that has a similar control scheme - a move button and fire button on the left and a 4-way stick on the right.  To move, press MOVE on the left and the direction button on the right at the same time.  To fire, press the FIRE button on the left and the direction button at the same time.  It took me a few tries to get the hang of it.

I think VFD games are the best kind of handheld and tabletop games.   They seem futuristic even though they're well over 40 years old.  It's a shame they don't make them anymore.

Now its time for the classified working/not working results with Bob Colston (sorry, I am old and that used to be on TV maybe 40 ish years ago for football results). Thanks for the Video Roger.

Have fights of the titan in need of repair. Sadly its the coil that has a fault so I need to take the part from another vfd game. I wish someone would make a modern substitute for these coils.
