Michel Thierry Atangana, a French citizen of Cameroonian origin, was detained for 17 years in a 7 m² cell in the basement of the Cameroonian Ministry of Defense.
Deprived of consular visits, abandoned by France.
Blending the story of his personal recovery with an investigation into the reasons for this interminable arbitrary detention, this film raises the question of resilience and examines the relationship between the defense of human rights and respect for national sovereignty, between individual freedom and the interests of the state.
