Thank you for saying this. I didn't get shortlisted for a law interview back in December. I wasn't really that worried about actually getting into Oxford because by that point I realised I much preferred the KCL PPL course, still hoping I get an offer for it. I do remember that what really affected me was having to tell my family and friends that I didn't get an interview when they asked about it. To me, it felt like my identity as an academically minded person was damaged in their eyes, and that no matter what I did from then on they would always think of me as 'academically subpar' or 'the one who couldn't get into Oxford'. Being over a month after that i realise that was a ridiculous worry, but I remember struggling to express that sentiment to my friends and family, let alone find someone else saying it online.
It's normal.
It's how you get back up that's the most important!
