Ice Age America Was Basically Africa On Steroids

If you think about Ice Age America, you may picture a bunch of snow, ice, and cavemen. However, that would be wrong, and you would be much closer to reality if you simply pictured, an unlikely place, the great plains of Africa, as that is what America essentially was during the Ice Age, only it was a whole lot crazier.

Thomas Jefferson was obsessed with mammoths after the discovery of the bones of these prehistoric elephantine creatures. He send frequent expeditions to find a living one as he refused to believe they no longer existed and saw the creature as a symbol of the greatness of his new nation.

That would be one hell of a cartoon crossover, lion king but set in the Pleistocene North America, it’s American lions instead of African ones, and simba is raised after losing his father not by a warthog and mercat, but buy a certain woolly mammoth, sabertooth cat and ground sloth😂😂😂 (aka manny, Sid and Diego take in another child they found)

Hey, there is a channel called Earth 2.0 that’s stealing all your content and making it worse with AI. I’ve reported them but hopefully you can do something to stop them.

Ice Age North America is low key underrated. Yeah, mammoths are talked about a lot. But few of the others get talked about as much.

You forgot to mention titanis Walleri the only terror bird in ice age america!...not to mention we once had alligators as big as saltwater crocs back then.

So just to mention it for people who don't know there were also Mastodons in California, Northern Mexico, and Oregon . . . the Pacifc Mastodon (Mammut pacificum). A species classified in 2019 and renamed from Mammut pacificus to Mammut pacificum in 2023. Edit: The Ground Sloths in North America were in the double digits . . . most of them in the Yucatan; in the US there were also Nothrotheriops and Paramylodon.

Reminds me of the time my friend told me how they had to wrestle off and fight a mountain lion to save themselves and their dog. The mountain lion was NOT an adult just so you know. Even though it was a youngster, she suffered 4 broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder. It was mostly focused on the dog so that's how she and the dog survived and how she managed to fend it off.

Now imagine a young immature American Lion against a human...
