Behold! The Pinned Comment where I will post all of the corrections to the inevitable mistakes I made. If you spot anything I did wrong, please respond here telling me how I screwed up.

So far four major mistakes:
- Critical Error Computing actually changed their website to criticalerrorcomputing.com/daszombes, which is the new affiliate link, mad I only noticed this after creating this video but wcyd
- I forgot the fuckign pomegranates, I understand if you can't forgive me for this transgression
- Peach lizards actually CAN swim, but the wiki states otherwise, I knew that was suspicious
- I didn't mention the tardigrade poison being utilizable to coat spears for a deadly toxic DoT

I have played through the Watcher 5 seperate times. Not once did I realise that Basilisks are blind. I just thought they were chill and lazy because they were high as fuck on the mushrooms...

"im not sure how they managed that, but good on the monkeys for getting closer to ascension" - 5p when the first slugcat shows up

Basilisk Lizards also have a VERY fast swim speed, but are unable to dive;  resulting in them ZOOMING across the water's surface.
This makes them look like they're running on water, just like real-world Basilisk Lizards.

"I'm really exciteds for the new Daszombes video!" I exclaimed with excitement. little did I know... it would be a feature. a creature feature. featuring... the creature.

let's have a watch..

My theory is that the Lobe Trees are like the fruiting bodies of slime moulds IRL. They produce rot spores (the dark particles u can see in rotted areas) which is then gets picked up in the wind and sucked through portals to far places, aiding in its fast spread. Once the spores land they transform into the form of rot that we know of. Literally just like slime mould IRL.

The locust whales could be using the locusts as a sort of parasite removal, whales in real life will swim to the surface to allow seagulls and other birds to pick off parasites, maybe these whales stop by every so often for that same reason

21:54 bro was grooving waiting for his homies to catch up

The boneshakers arent as complicated to understand, more that being rot related they are PRINCE related. They use the same assets of those weird boney tentacles inside iterator cans so maybe thats part of the Prince's way to catalogue stuff

Also, in arena mode, all rotten creatures turn into the default blue rot except for the bone shakers

To be fair to the Tardigrade, most Rain World creatures with irl-animal names are named on vibes rather than morphology. You can't tell me the Lizards are actually reptiles

you have no clue how much hatred I had, collecting the sandbox unlock for tardigrades, and then seeing that name
I was like "omg nudibranches my favorites!!!" and then that mf name pops up and it's like, No! That is NOT Tardigrade!

also can I have 2 paragraphs on the pillar grove trees

There IS new flora! You forgot the pomegranates.

For the blizzard lizards, my main theory is that the were purposed as a sort of coolant system, designed to ingest the brine and store it, then use it to shoot cool air at whatever was needed to be cooled. I imagine the reason they only appear in the surface, is that they were being transported inside the crashed train away to whatever they were designed for (such as maybe a iterator with an insufficient water supply), where without that train crash, they would live primarily in captivity rather than being allowed to roam free. I feel like this theory would check out more if they also showed up in cold storage, specifically inside the cages, but otherwise its the only thing I can think of that actually feels like reasonable explanation for how they function.

The implication that Rot will take over any world if enough time passes is very similar to something that's been known about immortality for a while, that if we ever manage to achieve it, cancer will become an inevitability because any organism will eventually develop it if allowed to exist for an infinite amount of time. Therrien even mentioned this connection in the 1.5 release interview

19:47 damage types are already inconsistent, so ignoring the electric damage part is very reasonable

43:05 i believe it’s called the “possum stage” because possums can “play dead” but instead these lizards “play” not a DLL lizard and just a less dangerous rot lizard

interesting fact about the bone shakers: im pretty sure the devs on a livestream confirmed that they purposely used the same bones as the ones found on the "bone tendril creatures" in 5p's region

Rain World really likes to make creatures that look like irl animals and then name them after another completely unrelated irl animal. Loaches look like fleas, tardigrades look like nudibranchs, and bone shakers look like jellyfish polyps.

About the rot's colour
I think maybe purple is an actual, NATURAL it's colour. And Pebbles's rot became blue because it's probably the colour of his biotics, which rot was feeding from
