"No joy. Only confusion and anger."
Now that should be on the box of this movie.

Unbelievable. Dakota Fanning was in War Of The Worlds and Coraline yet THIS still remains the scariest and most nightmare inducing project she’s acted in.

Morticia Addams was 100% correct and relatable when she flipped to the end and said, "Oh no... he lives... 😔"

Roger Ebert gave us a great quote in his review of this movie: "It’s been said you should never marry anyone you wouldn’t want to take a three-day bus trip with. I have another insight: Never make a movie about a character you can’t stand."

It feels like the set design is working twenty times harder than the rest of the movie elements

I think it was Jonathon Ross who described Mike Myers as "The Man of 1000 Voices...all of them Scottish"

I think my parents stopped letting me watch that movie after a while—probably once they realized all the inappropriate adult jokes that went over my toddler head.

I can never forget this movie because in the 10th grade, in 2006, we had this one substitute teacher show up to class in some Ms. Frizzle looking fit, toting kooshballs and speaking in rhyme about how much she loves Dr. Suess stories, and she's excited to share her favorite movie of all time with us for the class period, and I kid you not, she whipped out a dvd for this and loaded that into the rolling cart TV set up, and just sat there with us.

This was the first time I saw this movie, and it was also my algebra class.

A lot of people point to The Love Guru as the movie that killed Mike Myers’ career.  That said, I think this was the movie that initially started the descent into the coffin.  When you hear of Myers’ behind-the-scenes tendencies with a lot of his movies (especially those in his post-SNL days), plus how badly his approach to humor failed so spectacularly in this movie, it makes sense why things started to really decline for him after this movie.  Love Guru was probably just the final nail in the coffin for him.

I'm laughing at the mental image of a Hollywood exec jumping up, pointing at Micheal Myers and yelling "PUNISHMENT FILM!" when he turned down Sprockets.

I want Phelan's Hawaiian-esque shirt.

So THAT'S where the "It can make cupcakes out of anything" sound clip on TikTok comes from.

I worked at a movie theater in high school when this came out. Around Thanksgiving break while it was in theaters, the other ushers and I would love to wait outside of the auditorium that Cat In The Hat was playing, and see how many angry parents were complaining.

Don't open the box!

(I edited this!)

It really says something about this movie that, among the people I've met who actually enjoyed watching it - do you know who the stand-out fan-favourite character was?
Yes, that's right, it was the icon, the legend: Mrs. Kwon, the unconscious babysitter.

She really likes capturing the moments where Phelous is angry at what he’s watching. Wether it’s Garfield dancing to I feel good or the universal studios tickets.

"We suffer for our art"
Well, if you're gonna suffer, you might as well monetize it

As a big Dr. Seuss fan, I saw this in the theater.  To this day, I still don't think my eyes have recovered.

I never thought I’d live to see Cat and the Hat (2003) cut together with Hellraiser so thank you for that 😂

Back when this movie first came out, I remember someone telling me that her family went to see it. Apparently, the daughter’s reaction was “I thought we were going to go see The Cat in The Hat. What was that!?”
