I can't believe King K Rool called DK the N word.

About Candy Kong in the cartoon...Uncle Al summed her up best in this line.

King K. Rool: "You couldn't make a plan to cut a monkey's hair, and yet you were able to build and design a robot with an uncanny resemblance...to the Sasquatch!"

Fun fact: on a Cameo interview, Andrew Sabiston (Diddy's voice actor) actually WAS modeling his singing voice on Michael Jackson.

43:20 I'd like to argue against this a little. Yes, it features some elements from the show, and partially IS about the cartoon. But it's also about the Donkey Kong Country games, first and foremost. When speculating what happened to K. Rool, I'm pretty sure there were flashbacks to DK64. There's also the feature of DK Island (the DK-shaped island from the games) being shown in the animation rather than Kongo Bongo, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate invite at the end, and many other things. Hell, it's literally called "Return to Krocodile Isle," which is a location from the games. It's a love letter to DKC as a whole, not just the cartoon.

Leo luster at 31 is a travesty. Its the greatest song of all time, performed by Congo Bongo's no 1 recording artist.

A hologram, is like a telegram
You can send it anywhere
But you're not really there
You can't touch anything...

How much longer should I sing?!
Don't you understand that holograms can't push red buttons!

actually, nobodys hero has more rhymes, albeit indirectly. “didnt do” and “so confused” manage to work seemlessly to my ears, as does “hour” and “coward”. also, was curious about the dixie kong age thing and the only concrete evidence i could find is that in dkc 3 on gba, swanky says kiddy cant play his games because he doesnt accept minors, before allowing dixie in, implying shes an adult. so while the episodes still creepy, at least its not THAT creepy

Personally Pirate's Scorn is my favorite and I was glad to see it as a runner-up on this list.

honestly my song rankings were WAY different from yours, but that's okay, it became clear as the list went on that we have very different priorities. My favorites are the ones that "sound the best", regardless of lyrics or story context, but I understand why you'd value those things more.

But we definitely agree on the pirates having the best songs out of all of them, yarr

“The first 13 original [now lost] scripts, which 10 made it to storyboards, were filled with obscene jokes.”

This is the same show that has K. Rool sing about how Kremlings are the “superior species” in the song One Of Us, aswell as the “burn in Hell” line from Cap. Scurvy about his great-great-great grandpa, so it wouldn’t surprise me if a few of them still snuck into the aired episodes just very spaced out between each one and during quick moments.

I have to admit, the history lesson behind the Donkey Kong Country TV show is fascinating, honestly more fascinating than actually ranking the songs from the show. It certainly helps explain why the first 10 episodes feels so bizarre and nonsensical (not sure why subsequent episodes felt so equally bizarre). Incidentally, "Kong for a Day" was always my least favorite episode of this show, and sure enough, if was the 5th episode procuded. Ironic, given that I think "Nobody's Hero" is one of the best songs in the show (even if I do dislike the reason why he's singing it).

7:38 the amount of layers this specific clip has in response to that quote is unfathomable...

34:24 "Yes means No" the fact is sung by Diddy-OH NO...

15:10 Team Four Star did an amazing job like this on DBZ abridged

I unironically love this show

First video of yours I've watched, pretty good! Eager to see what's comin'. The history for the DK cartoon is weird as hell, don't think I knew of the original script stuff but it doesn't surprise me for some reason.
Didn't know the context for Nobody's Hero, song ruined, hahaha.

30:40 - I do believe you are owed a bouquet of roses for that deep cut joke good sir XD

Big Bog Monster was stuck in my head for weeks since I actually rented this from the local Blockbuster way back in the day...my classmates HATED me for that time cause I'd hum it so often.

Can't believe this guy put every song I like in the bottom half, so here is a rage filled internet comment. Grrr!

39:22 Wouldn't you know it, there is actually a mashup with both of these songs
Edit: I found it, it's called "donkey takes a trip to the red mountains"
